We all contributed in significant ways which would be meaningless without the other.
Each nation contributed servicemen that put their lives on the line for their country.

UK - Withstanding the brunt of the Blitz and keeping Europe at bay until the arrival of the US
Canada - Standing by the UK and its role in Operation Overloard
USA - Crucial aid to the UK and outstanding role in Operation Overlord and North Africa
Soviet Union - Bearing the brunt of Operation Barbarossa and launching an amazing counter attack and taking Berlin

And then there's nations like Poland, and Czechoslovakia whom resisted the German occupation for so long and sent pilots to fly for the RAF to defend the skies of the Isle's and still resisted the Germans in their rightful homeland until the end of the war, and of course how could I not mention the French Resistance. Oh and Brazil's contribution to the Mediterranean front.

Suck it up and deal with it.

@Zact

I find it appalling that most people in Western nations today do not recognize the contribution that the Brazilian Expeditionary Force made in italy. Not only Brazil, but also contributions from lesser nations like Poland and Czechoslovakia, think of WW2 and its all 'America' and 'Soviets' and 'UK'.

The french resistance was really good, but they ended up getting executed. But by time they were executed the germans had lost communications, transportation, weaponry, etc.

@Met

Are you an idiot?

Canadian forces took part under C Force during the Battle for Hong Kong, Canada also took part in the Battle of the Atlantic and Canadian Naval and Special Forces also played an active part in South East Asia and the Pacific under the British Pacific Fleet and Canadian soldiers were also involved in the Dieppe raid and the Invasion of Sicily. Canadian soldiers hit Juno beach in Operation Overlord with success and also landed in the Netherlands in 1944.

Saying Canda's contribution was essentially insignificant is very ignorant of you.

On a different note...

On D-Day, the Allies landed around 156,000 troops in Normandy. The American forces landed numbered 73,000: 23,250 on Utah Beach, 34,250 on Omaha Beach, and 15,500 airborne troops. In the British and Canadian sector, 83,115 troops were landed (61,715 of them British): 24,970 on Gold Beach, 21,400 on Juno Beach, 28,845 on Sword Beach, and 7900 airborne troops.

The marines took the Pacific single handedly.

@Disc

No, you did not take the Pacific singe handedly, but you done the majority of the work. The British Pacific Fleet consisting of the Royal Navy; also Royal Australian Navy, Royal Canadian Navy, and the Royal New Zealand Navy made significant contributions in the Battle of Okinawa. Also the Soviet Union was raging through Asia pushing the Japanese back, prompting some sort of 2 front fight which gave the US forces less presure...

Sorry to tell you, the contribution isn't equal for every country. Everyone did help out, yes, but some countries helped out more. Russia took the casualty lose and took out an entire front themselves, US was literally everywhere in the war and took out the Pacific themselves basically.

Soviet Union did not fight Japan, they declared war at the end. Japan did fear them attacking however. The British did not have a strong presence in the Pacific. They did contribute of course, however it was basically all U.S.

If Canada was so relevant to WWII then New Zealand was as well.
