At Washington, DC several traffic laws are now being enforced. This includes reckless driving and speeding. The following crimes are only valid if:
Reckless Driving:
- Constantly driving off-road (cars and motorcycles) - Not obeying police orders on the road (cars and motorcycles) - Dis-regard to any traffic signs (cars and motorcycles)
Speeding:
- Citizen cars going above 80 MPH - Motorcycles going above 80 MPH - Law Enforcement cars (that do NOT have sirens on) going above 70 MPH
The two crimes above do not apply to law enforcement cars/motorcycles with their emergency lights on. These lights can only be turned on in a real emergency. Law enforcement cannot leave these lights on for no reason and may be subject to prosecution or termination if the Director decides it needs to go to that certain extent or if they decide to do so. |
