It's not measured in bars mate, it's measured in megabits a second. Go to a speedtest site, I use the one by Ookla, other times i use the one provided by my ISP (Cox). Now, it might take some time to do the test but, when you do it and see your results, tell me the ping, download speed, and upload speed. |

"Good, 4 out of 5 bars." I have one bar, and windows is displaying a warning triangle with an exclamation point at some points in time. Heck, sometimes there is no bars.
Why am I even bothering to tell you this? Well, I don't even have any game connection issues.

Tone121, are you a trained IT professional? I think not.
Chippy, please answer my question, where are you seeing these numbers which you have given, of 904 and 906? Is it a number of bricks loaded in ROBLOX? |

This actually happend to me before when i was running 1.22 MB/s on my internet speed. I had to close down anything that used the network to run ROBLOX, and if i have YouTube up then it loads up to 200-500 then it takes 30 mins for it to load. What chippy was talking about was the number of instances he was trying to load up in the loading screen.
Also, even though i'm not a trained IT professional, i'm using prior knowledge to help this person. |

| Also, why ask me if i'm an IT Professional? Are you? Of course not. If knowing 2 programming languages considers me an IT Professional, then i guess i am. |

Two languages, that's not IT, that's dev.
8.8mbps download, that's plenty fast enough. I managed perfectly on 5.
He doesn't need faster internet. Slow connection wouldn't stop ROBLOX from loading, it would simply make it slow. |

| I know it would simply make it slow, that's what happened to me before, did i say it would just simply stop? It would take some time for him to download the game. And i just said i would recommend a faster internet speed. |

I don't sound like IT? Maybe that's because I use terms that people here understand.
Now, when you suggested that he get faster internet, that sounded like you were suggesting that his 8.8mbps download speed is the problem, and he needs to get faster than that, and then his problem will be solved.
"when i was running 1.22 MB/s on my internet speed" That's his upload speed. That's your download speed. Big difference. |

Maybe you got spoiled with 20mbps or something, but, 8.8 dl speed is pretty good. I've lived on 5 for many years, and ROBLOX never gave me trouble with that.
And you're saying that at 8.8, it's too slow?
Honestly, there's gotta be something other than his connection being "too slow." So, I'm not particularly inclined to believe that you know much in this area of knowledge. There could be a variety of connection-related problems. However, that would be intermittent. I'm also not convinced that spending a vast amount of extra money each month will resolve the problem.
Further testing should be conducted. |
