I want to make one that hasn't been done.
Mostly for the best name. Probably will be Muslim, from the looks of it. |

| I suggest medieval Armenia. It is one of the oldest kingdoms and the first Christian nation on the world. The architecture is quite old and lovely to build. A good group to work on, lots of conquests and stuff. |

Do the early Holy Roman Empire under Charlemagne. That would be interesting. |

Why not the Carolingian Empire? They out lasted the Eastern Roman's prime era and beat the Muslim Empire (Umayyad Caliphate) and they had multiple religious eras instead of one, so it wouldn't just be focused on one thing.
Their end was not due to conquest, they became Holy Rome and the French Monarchy. |

Another interesting one, as said, is the Vikings. Norway was quite interesting in itself and a lot more advanced then most people teach now-a-days, the Knights were invented in Europe because of the Vikings.
Normandy is also another good one, or Gwynedd which ended up beating the Normans (family used to be in one of the royal houses in Gwynedd but that's useless in modern day). |

Anyone recommended Kievan Rus' yet? That would be interesting, there are not many Slavic groups at all. |

| I have a 40-member Byzantine group with forts and uniforms, but it's inactive since I abandoned it to it's fate a month ago. |

Try using the Principality of Smolensk or the Kingdom of Deheubarth?
