I realized it said: "Recreate a real-world place using ROBLOX’s new Smooth Terrain Tools."
Why a real-world place? I mean, the whole point of ROBLOX is to build, make games and generally just be creative. Have a great deal of fun. But to enter the contest, I have to study some real-world place that may be good, and then spend hours boringly recreating it. I would absolutely love it if I could create a whole place straight from my imagination, anything I want, basically. That would be awesome to do, because I love that kind of thing. Oh well. :/
Maybe I could make a place that isn't real and the mods wouldn't notice. That would be cool.

^ true. maybe i should appreciate it as is. of course, i know i won't actually win, since I am one of the many players who are going to enter it. i won't waste all my time studying some real-world place and creating the place in roblox, no matter how tempting the 10,000 robux first-place prize is. obviously because i won't win, lol.

Also, I tried using the terrain tool. I'm not really that talented at using it, and the games I tried making didn't turn out too well, so... yeah I'm not trying the contest. But that's mostly because of "Recreate a real-world place using ROBLOX’s new Smooth Terrain Tools." That's such a stupid idea. It would be beautiful fun if I could actually be truly creative. Other contests from long ago allowed the user to be creative, they didn't seem to force you to make a place from the real world.

Its a contest using a feature called "smooth terrain" so of course its going to have some creative restrictions. If it didn't how would we know how to judge it? If we just said "build whatever" we would get great submissions that would be so different from each other that they couldn't be compared for judgement.
If you want to be ultimately creative you can do that--just not in the contest. |

"If we just said "build whatever" we would get great submissions that would be so different from each other that they couldn't be compared for judgement." That's true. But then, there are so many places on Earth that are very different from eachother. I mean, if there was no restriction for building real-world places only, I would assume there would be a rule where you have to make a place that is based off of real world places or something, like, make place with a vast beautiful waterfall. You don't have to make a real world place with a vast beautiful waterfall, it just has to be like a real-world place. Not some alien planet, right?
Oh whatever, the contest has begun it's too late. But honestly though. I kinda wish we could do it that way.

| It would limit creativity, yes, but it makes some sort of sense. It's smooth terrain, which is made to resemble the real world, and what other way to showcase the power of smooth terrain than to show that you can replicate landmarks with it? |
