inb4 "hurr durr god dont real" spergs
even the angels are metal as hell description of a cherubim in the bible:
"4 I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north--an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal, 5 and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures. In appearance their form was that of a man, 6 but each of them had four faces and four wings. 7 Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze. 8 Under their wings on their four sides they had the hands of a man. All four of them had faces and wings, 9 and their wings touched one another. Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved. 10 Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a man, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle. | Their descriptions almost make them sound satanic and evil-looking. |

| I think that is a cherubim, the only thing I found interesting in Christianity was the angels, especially the arch angels. They were the only thing that motivated me to support it. |

Some of my favorite scientists were also famous practitioners of the faith.
Mendel, father of genetics.
Boyle, father of modern chemistry
Newton, Calculus, physics, gravitation.
Galileo, astronomy
Kepler, astronomy (corrected some of Galileo's mistakes and holes in his theories--those holes were actually what kept the Catholic church from supporting his work)
Max Planck, one of the founders of quantum mechanics.
Pasteur, pasteurization; did work on the nature of illness and its root causes.
I could go on, but many of these men inspire me greatly. |

| Scientists were still products of their society and culture. Their discoveries don't validate their beliefs. |

@mousekin
True that.
My point was they made interesting observations about the faith as well. Their intellect helped them see deeper into it. |

I always found it strange that the bible states 'Thou shalt not kill' and yet the army has a church-endorsed group of clerics attached to most units.
