ik im like the thousandth person complaining about this but really
The old events were fun and memorable.
Even last year's Summer Games are memorable to me. Even though the event itself was pretty much pure trash to a lot of people, I still had a lot of fun meeting people and actually having a REAL competition. Even the music is memorable to me. Like sometimes I just listen to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V329zxVCNs
Now we have these cheap events where it takes you 20 minutes to complete. For example,
"The Ultimate Competition"
yes this is so ultimate it took me 10 minutes to get all of the hats
"Egg Hunt 2015"
yep, definitely a hunt. just because ripull's one game was actually a hunt, you can call it a "hunt". more like "Objective Hunt 2015."
And these sponsored events. They also take 5 minutes to complete. It's just not fun anymore. I've been playing this game since 2012 and I've always had fun on it until this year and the end of last year. The events just aren't spicy and fun anymore. All you do is complete simple objectives/tasks that no one finds fun. And yet, they continue to make them.
It's just getting to the point where Roblox isn't fun for me anymore. I'd rather have an amazing event every 6 months rather than having a horrible event every month that you don't have to put any effort into to win. I mostly play Roblox for the events, and this is just really getting low.
TL;DR - I am tired of these old events, and I think Roblox should change the community based events back to the old way.

Events before: Originality and had tons of fun. Events now: Lack of effort and uses same old games people played from the past.

Completely agreed. Last month, since I really only play events for fun, I skipped my first ROBLOX event ever in six entire years. I doubt I'm going to be participating in the new sponsor the upcoming summer camp event (spoliers: roblox high school), or any future events until we start getting original events.
I don't care whether or not they're developer or admin-made, tbh. As long as they're fun and original, I'd be ok, but these are essentially the same event over and over :P |

I never knew the old events years ago. But I agree with your perspective of Ultimate Competition and Egg Hunt 2015; 100%. |

While this forum post is directed toward those who disliked the egg hunt, it provides a valuable lesson which I think you ought to learn and it still applies to the topics at hand:

@Cave It's his opinion. Most of the community dislike this Egg Hunt.
But you others from that little pond like to barge in on opinions and show a thread or copy and paste that thread to your post.
"I dislike Egg Hunt 2015 for choosing users to develop this event to their games." - 87%
"Hey, you listen! Check this not needed thread about how your opinions are wrong and how Egg Hunt GREATLY impacted users lives, so get a move on it! http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=158235464 " - 13%
Seriously, stop. "valuable lesson" |

I never said that his opinion was wrong, I said that nothing he says matters.
There is a difference.
He cay say his opinion all he wants, he is entitled to that, but the manner in which he said it (albeit a lot less annoying than a majority of Roblox) didn't provide any constructive criticism.
Quoting from the same post of mine I linked:
"No matter how well you rip an update apart, if you haven't turned the rags into something more beneficial, then you've failed."
"The whole point of dissecting an update is not to tear it into a millions pieces just to call it garbage. The point is to provide criticism that is not only constructive, but also makes you worth while listening to. The point is to be able to find the flaws of an update and fix them rather than providing destructive criticism. If you provide destructive criticism (where your only goal is to make the update seem entirely negative and provide little to no ideas for a replacement or how to fix it) then you get ignored.
You have to gain the ability to shove something aside and replace it with something that has the same function but is superior to the previous one throughout forum discussions."
In short, exposing all the problems without providing a solution to those problems does only that. You can only go so far calling out attention to the negative things. You have to supplement them with ideas that will make those negative things go away. "Do it the way it was before" is not and cannot be constructive because the way it was before is inferior to the way it is now. Roblox would not make a change they deemed to hurt their company, as Roblox wants to better themselves. Knowing every update is an improvement, how are you going to build on those to make them better without "canceling the whole thing." |

I like it when people include TL;DR versions.
