i didnt know OT was this stupid
as quoted from livescience,
"Some moths pollinate by day. Hummingbird moths hover in front of flowers and unfurl their long tongues to sip nectar; they feed on a variety of flowers, including bee balm, honeysuckle and verbena.
4. Many adult moths don't eat.
While some moths suck nectar, others don't eat at all. The adult Luna moth, for instance, doesn't even have a mouth. After it emerges from its cocoon, it lives for about a week. Its sole mission in life? To mate and lay eggs."
the clothing moths you're talking about are small, have thin wings and their babies are the only one who do the eating, i don't have an infestation of those in my house. this was a moth who happened to stumble into the house during the event that someone opened the door at night.
and taken from BioKIDS - University of Michigan
"Most moths and nearly all butterfly caterpillars eat the leaves and flowers of plants. Some moth caterpillars eat fruit, or seeds, and a few eat animal foods like beeswax or fur. A very few species of caterpillars are carnivores, eating aphids or other soft-bodied insects. Adults mostly drink nectar or sap." |
