I have no idea if it's worth purchasing, however, and I need some feedback lol
idk too much about specifications but.. • Intel 4th Gen. Core i7 2.6 GHz (can be TurboBoosted to 3.6 GHz) • 16 GB DDR3L (Don't ask what speed the RAM is) • 1 TB at 7200 RPM + 128 GB SSD • nVIDIA GeForce GTX970M at 6 GB of GFX memory
I looked into something this big for several reasons • I need to do large things on-the-go (and especially for college courses I'm enrolled in) • I render large videos through Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro • Develop music (necessary if you're a music producer) • Architectural program (CCAD) requires a significant amount of CPU and RAM usage) • My current computers cannot do very much anyway lol
Again, I just have no idea if this is worth purchasing.
It's an MSi Stealth Pro-488

I would suggest looking into a fangbook edge instead
Same exact computer, only 200$ cheaper.
Heck, you could upgrade to the 4k resolution one and still save 50-100$ |

Pre-built, as it is stated on the very bottom of the original post.

| I understand you need to do stuff on the go, but you can get a desktop that's that powerful for much, much less |

| Yeah, I don't think you need something that good. Something decent would work and would save you hundreds. The processor should be fine at 2.6 GHz. |

Funny think is I'm currently doing the same thing lmao.
Need a computer for college, and I need one powerful enough to run all the engineering programs I need. I figured I might as well go for a more powerful machine since I was already planning on getting a gaming computer. |

Using CCAD alone makes this computer an almost necessity. |

Some people do not understand how BIG a desktop/laptop must be for CCADs to run DECENTLY.

LordKing, You would normally find a small quad core computer with that price.

Brandon, 2D and 3D designing programs, specifically for those who model vectors, which can be created by an engineer of some sort. My use of a CCAD (really it's just CAD) involves engineering in architecture. Some other users of a CAD are different, but still fall in the engineering field.
You may have to look more into that, however.

I have decided to purchase the laptop. Though it'd take me approximately four to five months due to taxes, minimum wage, and gas.

Habunake, I'm literally the only one I know other than Saus that needs this big of a computer that isn't really related to gaming purposes lol

I'm buying mine between now and the end of June.
I currently have enough to pay for it, but I also have to purchase a car before August. A friend of mine is offering to sell his for ~2,000$ when he gets a new car, but that could be anytime in the next two months. I could buy the laptop now and hope that he's not ready to sell until the end of June (When I'll have enough to cover both the car and laptop), or wait until the end of June to buy the laptop and know for sure that I'm covered for both just in case.
I really want that laptop now though.... |
