In the year 2689, the United Terran Empire, an oppressive interstellar regime,at the height of its power came into contact with an alien species known as the Ascended. In their arrogance, the Empire launched a full on assault immediately with devastating consequences for the Galaxy. As the humans relentlessly advanced with world after world succumbing to the onslaught of their tyranny, the Ascended were forced to unleash a weapon of terrible power. This weapon suspended all warp travel across the entire galaxy. In an instant, humanity was cast down from the stars which would ironically prove to be their salvation. Without warp capabilities the Terran Empires fleets could no longer suppress the thousands of rebellious planets under its rule. The Empire collapsed overnight leaving countless worlds to form their own planetary government. With no indication that warp travel would ever come back, they were forced to make do without the vast interstellar trade networks and become self reliant.
It has been a thousand years since then. Through whatever means, you have found your way to power as a leader of one of these planets, have come to power at a critical time. The great warp suspension has lifted, and the nations of humanity are free to once again come into interstellar conflict.
Planet Infrastructure: The Terran Empire had each world designated for a specific purpose and the planets infrastructure was built accordingly. In the process of becoming self reliant, much of this infrastructure was forced to be abandoned in favor of survival. But now it may come in handy.
A:Military Outpost Your world served as a way station for the mighty fleets of the Empire. Consequently, your people have gazed up at a massive orbital starbase in the night sky for years. Docked to this starbase is the tattered remains of an Imperial fleet that has been ravaged by time. How much of the fleet is still usable is unknown. A shuttle will have to be launched to inspect it...
B:Frontier World(agriculture) Your world was an agricultural center. Producing vast quantities of food to be shipped to urban worlds. With the collapse of the Empire, the need for that much food and farmland has declined. Nevertheless your people regularly enjoy a surplus of food.
B2:Frontier World(mining) Your world was rich in mineral resources, consequently its surface is dotted with the gaping maws of massive mine shafts. Time has not been kind however, and most of the mines have collapsed or been abandoned. Even so it should t be that hard to reopen them.
C:Industrial World Your world was a factory world. An industrial wasteland plagued with smog and pollution. Yet it's ability to produce all manner of things for the glory of the Terran Empire was unmatched. A thousand years has allowed the land to heal and the factories to be closed. But the knowledge is still there and given the raw materials. Your world could once again be a center of industrial prowess.
D:Urban World Your world was dotted with massive mega cities holding billions. With the collapse of the Empire, urban planets like yours were hit the hardest. The first few years were harsh, but your people persevered. Now you have a massive manpower base and a wide array of skill sets passed down. Sort of a jack of all trades type of deal...
E:Research World Your world was one of intellectuals and scholars. The reason for this was the secretive laboratories established on your planet to further the intellectual prowess of the Terran Empire. After the collapse, the need to be at the cutting edge of technology seemed absurd, and so the labs were abandoned one by one. Nonetheless your people enjoy a significantly higher level of education compared to other worlds.
F:Merchant World Your world was a hub for the interstellar trade system. Of course with the collapse, this seemed utterly pointless. Your people after much hardship settled down for life at ground level instead of soaring above the stars. But after warp capabilities were restored. Some old documents were uncovered, giving you access to information about neighboring systems that were long forgotten. With cunning you can exploit their weaknesses and desires to be powerful yourself.
G:Create your own path Who knows what other services the Empire demanded from its planets?
Rules: What I say goes
This will be a first come first serve type of deal, I'm unsure of my ability to keep up with multiple isrps so the first person to submit a sheet to my satisfaction gets the spot.
The technology is rather basic. Most weapons are still projectile based. While all warp capable ships have kinetic shields at the front, these are weak. Dedicated shields and energy weapons are devoted to large warships. Cloaking is unheard of. You will initially be restricted to preset ship classes.
Be realistic, no god modding etc, common sense.
I will decide the outcome of your actions.
This is my first attempt at an ISRP, feel free at any time to give me constructive feedback

Nation sheet:
Leader Name: Aven Jarvan
Government type: Republic(the populace elects electors who decide among themselves who should be the leader)
History of your world and how you came to power: Grahm IV was an arctic hole where those who were being unofficially punished were sent. Over time, however, it turned from an industrialized military outpost of no importance to where top military researchers were sent to find the newest and best ways to destroy things. When the Ascended warp inhibitor went off, the various researchers continued working, continued producing even after the fall of the UTE. Their descendants are few, but have smartness built in their genes. Aven was elected leader when the five Electors noticed his candidacy and skills in management.
Geographical Description of your world: While it is no longer a freezing hole of misery thanks to large mirrors redirecting sunlight to inhabited parts of the planet, Grahm IV still average below freezing every day. Ice covers most of the surface, with small oceans dotting the equator. Large mountains come and go like sand dunes, snow is rare but comes in huge storms that freeze everything it encounters.
There are 2 major cities and 3 minor ones. The larger ones have about 1,500 population each, with the remaining 1,000 spread out among the smaller cities. Rural property is nonexistent due to the cold nature of the planet. Both major cities and one minor city have large industrial complexes, the major cities and the other two minor cities(without large industrial complexes) have quite a number of scientists among them.
Planet Infrastructure type(see above): Combination Research and Industrial.
Population: Approximately 4,000.
Military size(keep it small): Approximately 200 military in total, about 1000 fighting robots.
Anything else you deem important or that I forgot: We use robots as our primary fighting force. Humans are usually logistics and command instead of being out on the field. |

| Accepted. I'll make your thread in the morning. For now no further applications. Just keep in mind with the technology as it is, robots will be extremely hard to produce and would possess no particular advantage over humans. |

| Yeah. Also, most of the robots are simple, mostly repgroammed industrial bots that were given weapons and aren't required in the factories. |

| Yes, the only alien race thus discovered would be the mysterious Ascended. Which would only make an appearance far in. |

(I'm going to warn you, Insidious, don't take in too many ISRPs, it gets tiring.)
Leader Name: Aegis Pollarikus V
~~
Government type: Representative dictatorship. There is initially a dictatorship, but then the several regions of the government are each represented, and act as ministers to the dictator, but hold to ultimate power.
~~
History of your world and how you came to power:
Octavius Prime, one of the 8 worlds in the Octavius system, and one of the 4 of them habitable, was somewhat a mid-rim Terran world. The planet was primarily inhabited due to it possessing a rare metal, used for various spaceship parts, and offering conductivity and dimensional properties used in making FTL drives, etc. The metal was very plentiful, and tons of it exist in the core, enough to make thousands of ships.
Due to this, it was a prime target for pirates, and so a somewhat relatively large military garrison was stationed on the planet. The planet was also industrial, processing the metals and sending them off to the more inner-worlds to make spaceships.
When the warp disaster occurred, the planet was thrown into chaos, and was cut off. The military population quickly calmed the situation, and a new government was instated by an ambitious leader of the Pollarikus family, a somewhat royal and rich family. Ever since, the nation has been a mainly strong military nation, and is comparable to the Roman Empire's type of design, architecture, etc.
~~
Geographical Description of your world: A core made up of a large amount of the rare metal, mostly earth-like, 3 main continents with lots of water, different types of interesting animals. It is about 1.8x the size of Earth.
~~
Planet Infrastructure type(see above): Mining/Military/Industrial (i got my reasons)
~~
Population: 7 billion
~~
Military size(keep it small): 4.8 million active, 2.3 reserve

Anything else you deem important or that I forgot: err not a lot

| Denied for mostly two reasons. The first is your attempting to include too much in your planet with no obvious draw backs. A mining planet capable of processing its own mineral output , combined with a military outpost AND a fairly large population? My second reason is an extension of the first. Your system has seven other planets, three of them habitable? I realize these elements constitute a major part of your planet and its history but for the sake of balance you'll have to revise it. |

(Yes, the only reason I was trying to do that was because I saw that a more closer Terran colony would possess more importance to an affect.)

Accepted. Though keep in mind the scenario I'll draft for you will be substantially more difficult than LNgs to scale with your planet and systems inherent advantages.
As of right now I'm only planning on running one at a time. However Im thinking of breaking it up into 'chapters'. Once LNGs chapter is finished I will open another thread for another person. Once 3-4 people have had their first chapter completed. I will either integrate the ISRPs into a singular role play or continue as I have with a second chapter. Regardless the second stage will feature large human NPC factions and possibly the Ascended depending on player choice. |

Nation sheet:
Leader Name: James Greene
Government type: Democratic Republic
History of your world and how you came to power: Upon it's discovery geological surveys tagged planet B14853 as being highly valuable for it's mineral resources. There was one obstruction though. Roughly 80% of the planets landmass was covered in dense jungle. It was nicknamed "Selva" by the largely Latin crew of the first survey vessel. Initial ground teams were frequently attacked by the planets numerous native carnivores, and as a result, a small task force of Terran Marines was required to establish the first colony. The large colony compound, set on the area with the least concentration of valuable minerals, was marked to be larger than needed to support growth, as a wall was erected around the outer edge of the compound. By the second generation of colonists, a planetary militia had been formed to protect mining operations, but were initially careful to minimize damage to the planets ecosystem. Mining crews were well-armed, and the threat was minimal for the longest time. As demand for the metals found on the planet increased, mining operations were force to expand in order to cope, clearing away large swaths of jungle and doing irreparable damage to the ecosystem, resulting in the extinction of numerous species of wildlife. At the current state, nearly 60% of the planets resources have been extracted, and over time, more and more of the initial environmental standards have been ignored. Shafts and Quarries sit long abandoned, often serving as a means to dispose of waste, filling up shafts and making artificial swamps out of the large strip mines. Air quality has been reduced drastically due to the arrival of processing plants, to save on shipping costs, so much so that breathing equipment is required by colonists for extended periods outdoors. Oddly enough, much of the local wildlife was able to adapt to the new poisons, which seem to have little effect on newer generations of flora and fauna.
Geographical Description of your world: Selva is a moderately sized planet, with two orbital moons, which are devoid of useful resources, though have been mounted with communications relays to largely negate the need for satellites. Roughly 40% of the planet's surface is water, the remaining 60% being landmass. About 30% of the planets native jungle has been cleared away by mining operations, and large mine shafts, quarries, and strip mines speckle the surface, giving it a rather patchy look from orbit. The poles have very little above ground ice, and with recent pollution levels, the existing ice is expected to melt completely within a decade. Surveys have confirmed that there is ice underground on and near the poles however. Pollution has greatly increased the average cloud coverage, and though very few instances of acid rain have been recorded, instances of rainfall have increased 75% since our arrival on the planet, at times, entire hemispheres have been covered in weather clouds.
Planet Infrastructure type(see above): B2 Frontier World (Mining)
Population: 12,533
Military size(keep it small): 500 Active, 198 Trained Reserve

My apologies for my shortage of grammar and abundance of warping.
Miner I'm somewhat strained by what I'm juggling both on the forums and irl. That and a desire to keep the quality as high as possible means I'll be managing just LNGs. If he happens to become inactive I'll open up a second one. |
