I'd advise you to uninstall it. Immediately.
Why? Hola takes your PC and turns it into a VPN endpoint upon installation. Why is it free? Because the users become the proxies that Hola uses. And you're not aware of it. This can be potentially dangerous, as people can search up stuff on your PC that you may not want (which can get you in major trouble with the law), and on top of that it eats up your bandwidth.
Essentially, by opting to use Hola, you are adding your PC to the Hola botnet and are allowing others to use your internet without an opt out of it.
Some of you may already be aware of this, but those that aren't, uninstall Hola. Now. Tell other people as well, over 8 million users around the world are subject to this botnet without even realizing it.
Cheers OT, been a long time since I've posted here, figured this needed to be said though.

They aren't looking anything up on your PC. They're using your IP to connect to what ever DNS server they might be visiting, and your IP is logged onto that site. You won't get into any legal trouble with this anyways, as they'd see the web traffic was encrypted. (Because who uses a proxy without encrypting web traffic). They'd get all the records from your ISP and it'd be clear from there. |

oh but they are it uses your router as an exit node as far as they see, it's going through your internet, and is therefore your fault

asking the important questions as always, moris shouldn't you be talking to your underage girlfriend?

you really know nothing about this stuff lol
Law Enforcement won't instantly make an arrest. They do an INVESTIGATION. They need legal warrants to take your PC and search your data. They won't make an arrest purely on ISP records without searching.
They would do an investigation if you've been visiting many illegal sites, and they'd see that there would be encrypted web traffic. They would contact your ISP and get your DNS records, and eventually, if all else fails, they will search your PC with a warrant, only to find you have an external connection being made from the botnets server. (No, not claiming an IRC, as we aren't sure if it's a botnet, or even if it's an IRC botnet and not an HTTP botnet.) |

My God, do you actually have incriminating material on your laptop? You wouldn't be getting so defensive if you didn't. I knew you had raging hormones but you'd better be careful. |

i said get in trouble not get arrested read carefully basically means law enforcement will pay you a visit (and at least in my mate's case, a slap on the wrist and a note that their pc is being used in a botnet) but i'm not saying they're going to instantly arrest you and take you to bloody prison i might not be in IT but i know the basics of law and computers and i'm not stupid
