Name: Alynthea Pheregrul Gender: Female Age: 20 Appearance: Extra light ash-blonde hair cut to earlobe-length, green eyes, relatively tan, stands at what equates to five foot nil, skinny, light freckles, overall looks like she's never so much as touched anything more dangerous than a sewing needle.
----
You have not been leading long, hardly 3 years. You've never seen a battle larger than a few hundred men, but a Warrior is not what Lord Astor felt the Vale needed. You met Lord Astor over a game of chess, and beat him in 4 moves. He watched from that day forward, and he saw a charismatic leader if ever there was one. You could rally the dead back to throw themselves at the enemy one last time, and such was exactly what Lord Astor believed the Vale needed.
----
The death of Lord Astor brought about conflict within the walls of the city. There are a number of speakers inciting rioters in a market square. You decide to attend to the matter personally.
A formation of Town Guard have arrived at the square. As you arrive, the Guard Sergeant defers to your orders. |

I stand tall, despite my short height. "We need to put these riots to a halt, with as little bloodshed as possible. Pull the speakers aside if possible, and get men to block any exits and entrances off. There is already unrest, I would rather show I wish for nothing but peace, than to appear to be a tyrant. I will try and get the attention of the people, but they may think me small, and therefore weak, which is a sign of a lack of wisdom. Let no weapons be unsheathed, this needs to be peaceful. But if the people must fight stubbornly, a fight they shall get."

(You hadn't posted the last time I checked.)
"Yes, Lady General."
The Sergeant begins giving orders to his men. Several troops of Guardsmen move off and plug the exits to the plaza. The main body of Guards uses their Shields to force a wedge through the crowd, steadily creating an aisle up to the speaker's platform. Another small unit of Guardsmen moves up and subdues the speakers. |

I watch silently, scanning faces to see if I recognise any of the rioters. If I recognise any, I make a mental note to myself. Hopefully, to the unwitting observer, I appear to be little more than a young woman looking for a family member out here. However, to those who knows my face and name, they will likely figure that I am not in fact looking for family and friends, but to be gathering names and faces for later note.

You aren't exactly blending in with the crowd, given that you're well dressed, bear the insignia of the Lord General, Lady General in your case of course, arrived in a carriage, and began giving orders to the town guard.
You don't recognize any people, except maybe having seen a few faces before. But they were just faces, perhaps shopkeeps or tradesmen, it doesn't matter. |

I turn my attention to the speakers, not even bothering to hide the fact that I am mentally scanning their movements for any hostile movements, such as reaching for where a weapon could be concealed, weapons in plain sight, visible armour, or any strange spots in the clothing that could be armour or weapons. I also look for any calm movements, or anything odd at all. After that is done, I begin to feel for any hostility in the air. I am fully aware the crowd could attack at any moment, and so I stay ready to either fight or take flight as needed.

As you approach the speakers, 2 of them shrink back, caught off guard by your direct intervention. The 3rd seems wholly unabashed.
The crowd shouts a few obscenities here and there, but they aren't forcing against the guard too muh yet. |

I face the crowd, standing in front of where the speakers stand. "There is no use for obscenities! If you must act vulgar, then you show that you have no true self! Vulgarity does not win arguments. Vulgarity just worsens our problems! If you must try to make change, why not go through it with wit, respect, and maturity? Shouting obscenities shows a lack of intelligence, disrespect towards all those who work hard to keep it so you can live in peace, and the amount of maturity one would expect from a babe in arms! I wish for naught but peace and prosperity!" I turn to face the speakers. "Why must you rile this crowd up? Chaos from here will result in naught but a civil war, which would solve little. Civil war would simply result in stricter laws, bans, more arrests, and chaos. Do you wish for chaos, and to be defeated by any who attack if we go to war amongst ourselves, or peace and prosperity by not antagonising the law enforcement?"

One of the crowd tells you precisely where you can stick your views on vulgarity.
The 3rd speaker starts, "Chaos would surely not be at our hands were Lord Astor still alive. You have no right to replace him, you are a mere juvenile." |

"I admit, I am young. However, age does not determine intelligence, ability, or anything else other than life already lived. Respect the child as the elder, the child as the parent, the babe in arms as the man on the deathbed. To chaos not being at our hands were Lord Astor alive, that is not fully true. Chaos would not be at our hands if you did not rile the crowd up, had you not begun to speak. All in all, the chaos is at the fault of you, the speakers, not at anyone else's." I turn, to face the one who said where I could stick my views on vulgarity. "And you, you could stick your apparent lack of maturity in the same spot, I believe. Or, does that not apply?" I tilt my head, giving a fake-confused look.

The 3rd speaker scoffs.
"You speak so much of Chaos, and place the blame upon others. You could hardly know of Chaos, nor how to stop it, you have not seen Chaos, you have not seen the end of a blade, and you are as ill prepared for it as the child you refer."
A chunk of brickwork lands a meter or so short of you and shatters against the stones. |

I look at where the brickwork fell, then look straight at its' source for a moment before returning my attention to the third speaker. "I have not yet been in a large battle, I admit, but that is because Chaos has not yet arrived. I place the blame not solely on others. Yet, you cause this riot. All could be fine with the world, if you did not speak out. I wish for peace, for war and Chaos only to be history, for the generations not yet living. I wish for battle only to be something parents tell old stories of. Please, I ask you to step down peacefully. I wish not for the streets to run red."

"You wish us to be silent? Well, if order comes at the cost of such oppression, we'll not have it. Our suspicions were correct, you seek only power..."
The speakers depart, and the crowd disperses. |

(I'm sorry, but I can't continue this for awhile. End of the year means Choir is keeping me busy, I'm prepping for Summer Camp, and life is turning into a tornado all around me, and I have to drop certain things for a while. Sorry again.)
