UEFA, some CONCACAF and CONEMBOL (i think that's it) teams are going to vote him down, but they face stern opposition from asia, africa, and oceania
bribery is fun and the system is stupid |

| Both might end up voting for Sepp Blatter because the IFF wouldn't want an Arab in charge of FIFA and Peru probably would join the CONMEBOL pact |

USSF has publicly declared that they will be voting against Blatter, and have said that they convinced the CSA (Canadian Soccer Association) and the Panama FA to do the same

The election is a battle of two turds.
You have Blatter, and a Jordanian prince who will probably be an even worse option surprisingly. |

This is like choosing between Rick Perry or Ted Cruz for me
I'd rather abstain and be stabbed repeatedly than vote for either
If I had to vote or else I'd be shot I'd sadly vote for Sepp Blatter too |

the prince of jordan is actually legitimate though. he removed the ban for hijabs in soccer, and is a very good politician. he may not move the world cup from qatar, but he will make reforms to end corruption
the alternative is the world's biggest soccer superpowers pulling out of all fifa events |

| I know Iran's football federation would vote against an Arab (ESPECIALLY one that wants to remove hijabs) |

Holy snap then @withdrawl from FIFA. I was listening to the news and heard Europe's distaste, but didn't hear it was that severe. Honestly if it were up to me I'd postpone the election by 30 days just to get some calamity.
Unfortunately though it's a numbers game, and everyone has an equal vote. 53 is a decent number but not high enough. |

first vote, you have to win 2/3rds second vote is outright majority
so even if blatter doesn't win the first vote, he'll win the second unless people change their minds dramatically in the next few hours |

Out of curiosity would the public be informed about the 1st vote before the 2nd wave is cast?
Once again I'm ill-informed about the voting process since it really just hit the spotlight. Thanks for talking about the 2/3rds rule. |

| i myself, a jewish man, am supporting prince ali. he'd actually be a very good president and considering he's a prince, he wouldn't need bribe money. |

The problem is, he'll be the one handing it out. |

he's an unknown entity that's why. we don't know what he's going to do. sepp blatter was initially good for the game before he got desperate to hang onto power
@sirhurricane
i just realized this, but he's not banning the hijab, he's removing the ban where women wearing the hijab can't play soccer. iran would like that |

i will admit to not knowing this until watching it, but the documentary jeffrey schupp did on blatter reported that blatter bribed people to become president back in 1998 (through bim hammam). considering all the allegations, he's always been corrupt.
but in terms of expanding the game past europe and south america, he's done very well. it's why places like africa, asia, oceania and concacaf will vote for him, because he actually recognizes them and it's what kept him in power.

he does that through bribery and intimidation though
under blatter, money has been funneled through to those poorer countries, but so few of it actually gets spent where it is supposed to. his favourite trick is apparently "youth development" money, which goes straight into wallets and stadiums. he doesn't suspend funding or call out this issues, he keeps on sending them money.
the former botswana FA reported that blatter would give them money for project goal, and always reminded them that funding would suddenly cut off if he did not get their full support |
