Hello!

Throughout this, I will not be telling you much about the game you will be helping me make - I will tell you the idea, once you are in the team.

As the title says, I have a game idea, and I would like to see if I could get a team together to program it. I also will not be paying you a single amount, if you look at my money on the account page, you will see why. What I will do is pay you in a percentage of our profits from the game, (I be paying the team 75% of profits from it) and I will determine your percentage based on the amount contribute to the development.

So, without any further ado, what do I need in my team?

1) Graphics designer (Probably mostly for ads, not too major a role, but if you are able to, I would also need graphics for inside the game, and there will be a lot more of those, so you could increase your percentage a lot via those).

2) Lua programmer (I have some basic knowledge of Lua, and I have a relative fluency in three other languages, so if you need it, then I would be able to give you pseudocode, otherwise I will give you a brief for a script, or series of scripts. You will also need to know ROBLOX physics quite well).

3) Map builder (This map would be mostly terrain, with various different areas).

4) Model builder (Probably a smaller role, although like with the graphic designer there is a lot of room to expand upon it. You could probably combine this job with that of map builder).

5) I'm reserving this for the fact that there is probably some job I haven't thought of, and for anyone who thinks I have missed out a job, or that they can help in some way, to PM me.

Finally, please PM me with any applications if I don't reply on here (I will probably have forgotten I made this post)

Thanks for reading,

Bobbybillyhi

And I quote:

'I also will not be paying you a single amount'

So, you will not get any money until the game begins to get views, and visits. This should be better than a bulk amount, since the amount you get paid, will be directly related to how successful it is. If you are good, you will get a good pay-out, if you are less good, you will get a less good pay-out.

Poor way to manage a team.
Not attacking you in any way, just want to point some things out.

Firstly, people prefer to know exactly how much they will receive. Basing it on the games failure isn't the best way to motivate people because it doesn't matter how well a single person tries. It all depends on everyone working to the highest ability, which places the control out of the builders/scripters/GFX's hands.

Secondly, no one will steal your idea. It's much easier to get people on board with an idea if you communicate to them exactly what it is. That's the first bit of information they need use to decide whether they want to help or not. Don't make them chase you down for an answer. Your trying to sell your idea to these people so they'll help. So sell it.

Lastly, what are you bringing to the table? Are you a good builder, scripter or what? Why should a group of people build a place for you when they can do it themselves and receive 100% of the profits?

How do we get paid If we don't have BC? ROBLOX takes a 30% fee If you buy someone's T-shirt, and how do we know after the game has been released you won't keep the money for yourself and not give any to the developers? Your honestly asking for a awful lot when you could do the map, and model making by yourself.

When life gives you lemons, you take those lemons and burn your neighbors house down!

Fair enough, I understand the concerns you are raising.

The reason I am making this, is because I am trying to get people who can make very good end products, and bring them together on what should be an innovative project.

This is the reason that I am not going to try to do this on my own. I doubt that this project will be that successful without each person doing their own specific job, which they are specifically good at.

Also, in answer to JamieRBLX, you have sort of answered you own question, as to why I am not putting forward the ideas, because people would be able to do a lot of it themselves, and since the people reading these forums are going to be much more experienced than I am at what people expect from a request.

Also, in what I am bringing to this: A well developed idea, pseudocode, and profitability (probably with minimal effort), as well as running the team, and hopefully bringing everything together.

In reply to rexnfx, I am not very good at designing, and the aim is that this should end up as a very high quality game. And if it will make you feel better about going into partnership, I can create a joint account, or something else agreed on beforehand. And, with the 30% fee - I'm not sure if development products have the same deduction, if they don't we could go via those. Also, I will make it known to ROBLOX that I am going into this partnership beforehand, as well as sending you a PM confirming it, as well as the rest of the team. Then, if I were to back out of my deal, you would be able to band together to get me banned, because while ROBLOX may not listen to a single request, a ban request from 4 people would get listened to.

You still have a fault with your withholding of the idea.

If you assemble your "dream team" and THEN tell them the idea, the only difference is that now if they say "forget about that guy" to you, they'll all be together already. It simply makes most since to just reveal the idea if you're trying to raise a team, especially if you recognize that the people you're looking for are admittedly better at what they do than you are.

So your only bringing 1 or 2 things to the table unlike everybody else. I'm sorry but this "group management" your doing could easily be done by anybody.

In reply to both of those most recent comments, while I already have a large part of idea, I am very good at coming up with new ideas, which would allow room for a lot of expansion, and I'd be able to provide the basis for a lot of the code, since I am well versed in the basic logic of the code that would be required for the ideas that I put forward. I also would like to think that I would be able to trust the team (although that could be mostly put down to naivety).

About your ideas thing: You're on a website dedicated to game development. Having a creative mind is no rare feat.

If you want to lead a team of developers, you should be as good or better at every aspect of game design as all other members.

The cold truth.

If I was better than them at it, then I wouldn't need their help. I myself represent a small team, who overall are good at these areas, but not better, I listed my personal specialities, which I am the best at. We however as a group have skills in several areas.

Incidentally, before you ask why I need a team, if I already head one up, the team I am representing is small, and while we are good, we are not the best, or better than the level of people who I am hoping to recruit.

For one, I can say this from experiance: bringing people toghether on the forums Isn't a generally good Idea, you don't know these people and what Intentions they may/may not have, half of my friends are excellent builders, I've known them since I started using ROBLOX, they taught me from scratch basicly, asking a group of friends who are experienced builders who all know each other Is a better Idea then getting a group of strangers toghether, which you don't know any of their Intentions, It's not very smart doing that.

When life gives you lemons, you take those lemons and burn your neighbors house down!
