Hey I know the majority of us have used the recording feature while playing a game at least once. Interesting, but dull. I want to propose a suggestion to completely upgrade the recording feature. The fact of the matter is that no one currently wants to use the feature. Not only does it slow down the client but it has much better third-party alternatives (Camtasia, Hypercam, Screenr, QuickTime, etc.) There's absolutely no reason why you would choose ROBLOX's recorder over any of the software that I've listed. Unless you're in need of the space.
What can be helpful for devs and video creators is a new feature that'll give you the ability to edit your clips and add fx to it. To use the editor, your short clip will have to be about 30s long. You'll be able to change the camera view of specific parts of the clip, trim the clip, takes pictures, enhance brightness, and more.
With this feature, Devs can make their games look more attractive to viewers and show more professionalism. Video creators can also make their videos more entertaining and have more freedom when editing. This isn't a necessity but it'd be a cool feature to have and I look forward to it.
If you don't support state your reasoning behind it. If you support thanks =)

Zygostatic You're not going to open a default game and expect the feature to be there. Developers shouldn't and won't spend hours, day, or even weeks scripting this when it's completely irrelevant to their games. Also, it can't be scripted. You can do something similar, but I assure you, the clip won't be stored in your hard drive. You can be able to comparably record gameplay and edit it but how will you save it to your computer? I'm not going to record what I edited, that'd look terrible.
Also, I'm almost positive that you never read my entire thread otherwise you wouldn't have thought that way. |

| I support this. But saying that your short clip will have to be about 30s long is annoying. Can it be longer? And how is this scriptable? |

To the people saying "scriptable".

If that's the case you shouldn't be recording videos.

I somewhat support the idea. On one hand, like you said, there are many third party alternatives to ROBLOX's recorder that ROBLOX shouldn't really focus on it.
On the other hand, it would make ROBLOX a little more professional. People who are doing lets plays of ROBLOX on Youtube might prefer using a better native ROBLOX recorder if it helps with lag and allows them to make higher quality videos. |

RBXChris "If that's the case you shouldn't be recording videos."
That doesn't really relate to what I stated. The majority of users would choose third-party programs over the ROBLOX recorder any day, but if it wasn't a choice they'll have to use the ROBLOX recorder and it'll be hell.
"there are many third party alternatives to ROBLOX's recorder that ROBLOX shouldn't really focus on it."
That's exactly why we need to update the ROBLOX recorder. There's so so much third-party alternatives, not all safe and if ROBLOX really wants to make the recorder useful at all this will be the way. Update the recorder as I stated and we wouldn't need to use third-party alternatives. |

Yeah but what's the point if people already have what works for them? I can maybe see this being worth it if they "updated it enough" that it produced higher quality videos than the third party applications. |

LazyGuitarist Are you incapable of comprehending? We don't want a simple screen recorder. Vanity is what's necessary and if ROBLOX wants to have a recorder, it should be enjoyed by users of ROBLOX. Bandicam isn't going to have different camera views for what you play on the ROBLOX client, you're not going to be able to set frames for each thing you do. You'd understand that if you actually spent the time to read the thread. If you guys aren't going to read the entire thread, DON'T REPLY. Your opinion will be useless. It'd be kind of like a replay editor that would see in video games such as GTA V, Skate 3, etc. Bandicam is nothing like that. |

| I like your creativity, and this idea had a lot of thought put into it, but I don't support it. You could do all of this on a special video editing website after you record a video. I'm sure you'll have better ideas in the future, though, so keep trying. |

Doggy00 You mean to tell me, you can change the camera view from your face to your wings on a special site just by uploading a screen recording? I didn't think so. Thanks for the compliments but I still stand for this idea and despite the amount of trolls replying to this thread to increase their post counts, this would make an incredible implementation. You don't need it to be a necessity. |
