Got my SAT scores back, I only got a 1580. My parents had be lined up for a scholarship for 3.9+ GPA + 1900 SAT score. Told them multiple times that I couldn't get 1900. They get my scores and yell at me for doing terrible. :/ |

Dude, just study.
I am friends with alot of people that put in about two months worth of dedication and got their scores up. YOU CAN figure out the system. For the writing and math part, there are only so many formulas and grammar rules that you can use. For the reading, just remember that that the answer is ALWAYS in the passage. I was in the same situation as you back in December; I have a 3.8 UW GPA and got a 1630 on the GPA with no study time. I got so dedicated and got it up to a 1970 after taking the March one by solely practicing from the Blue Book. I have a friend with a 3.2 UW GPA that was able to go from a 1720 to a 2190, another friend that went from an 1840 to a 2070, and a third friend that went from a 1690 to a 2040 I believe it was. Take the summer off of Roblox, and STUDY. You won't regret it dude, Im taking it again in two weeks and shooting for a 2100 and I started out at a 1630. I know it's a long parapgraph, but I felt like I had to chip in because this is all everyone at my school is talking about and it's possible to get up there. I think every HS student who wants to go somewhere in life knows the feeling on low SAT scores, good luck man. You can do it. |

Thanks jip. Any study recommendations? And yeah, that's why I'm quitting for the summer and DevEx'ing. That and AP Homework. |

| Go through the CB Blue Book. Read the writing and the math, skip the reading. Go through as many practice tests as you can, and time yourself for all of them. The time is pretty strict tbh. After every section, go online and see the answer explanation and make sure you can do the problem. For the writing, memorize the grammar rules, they're also found in the Blue Book. Make sure you know them and take more practice tests. For the reading, I suggest Direct Hits 1 and 2, they nail a good amount of the vocab and it's only about 500 words. Take practice tests, as you keep on going you'll uncover the patterns for math and writing - there is only so many problems. For reading, it'll help your speed and analysis. If you're done with the BB, go back through past test and make sure you can work out the math problems and the errors in writing. If you have time after that, i'd recommend Barrons or Kaplan. Like I said dude, practice and study makes perfect. It's an ACHIEVEMENT test, meaning it measures WHAT YOU LEARNED, not HOW intelligent you are. |
