| I don't think it's wise to place your whole trust and confidence in something you can't prove exists considering we live in a universe of cause and effect so we naturally assume that creation is the only way in which any kind of existence can function but people let it consume them to the point where it's taken over who they are and what they stand for so they disregard their own moral sense of right and wrong because supposedly the source of all moral authority said so. |

| Religion leads a person to good things most of the time. Sometimes, it's the one thing they can count on. I mean, doesn't it sound nice that you can have afterlife in Heaven and not just die? The thought of life just ending and nothing more is frightening. |

| You're right, it can act as a guide to one's behaviour but it comes with consequences like self doubt. |

"If you know God, you ought to value HIS ways more than your own."
Value his ways?
That'll get you sent to prison really quick. |

I'm quite open to the idea of divine beings. But without a source of moral authority what are morals? If there is no authority isn't everyone on the same level in deciding what is right and wrong? What gives you the right to say anything is wrong over the opinion of another? |

"But without a source of moral authority what are morals?"
Your own principles of right and wrong behaviour determined on your own thoughts and feelings.
"If there is no authority isn't everyone on the same level in deciding what is right and wrong?"
They should be trueful to their own conscience, not what they think they should believe in, they would be lying to themselves and that's the biggest lie of all.
"What gives you the right to say anything is wrong over the opinion of another?"
Because I believe acting with conviction is a right decision. |

"They should be truthful to their own conscience, not what they think they should believe in, they would be lying to themselves and that's the biggest lie of all." If I'm a psychopath and I feel it is morally fine to kill people and I do it, is it fine because I'm following my conscience? |

I was referring to the average individual, not mentally unstable people. |

"I was referring to the average individual, not mentally unstable people." What if we're the mentally unstable people? Are we "normal" just because we are the majority? What if humans were made to be mass murderers? |

Because it's common sense, I think it's clear now you're just being contradictive just to oppose my statements lol. |

| It is called consequentialism mate. Everyone follows it for their morals. Even if you believe in God and a deontological morality it is still a form of consequentialism because you abide by the rules to avoid consequences such as hell and social ostracism associated with outsiders. |

Well that's a definition for it but still, my point is that they should just seek their own wisdom within and not completely depend on a belief. |

| My point is all morality is derived from the consequences of actions. And a lack of morality is due to a lack of understanding consequences or an apathy toward them. |

"Because it's common sense, I think it's clear now you're just being contradictive just to oppose my statements lol." How do you determine what is common sense? And no I'm not just opposing your statements, I'm showing you how morals have no true meaning without someone to dictate them.
