So last night I found out that there is a past Senate rule stating that only the PPT and Majority leader can host sessions, this excludes the Minority leader who is a member of the leadership and I myself am very active and able to host sessions. This rule was put into place because a senator was afraid it wouldn't be fair if the Minority can host a session but all I see is an obstruction of the Senate's daily operation.
*Yes this can be overturned, Sufferpoop confirmed so*
Shall this rule be overturned to once again allow the Senate Minority Leader to host Sessions?

1. Nay Neither the Majority OR Minority Leaders should have ANY involvement in the hosting of Senate sessions. They lead their political party in Congress. They have *NOTHING* to do with the basic running of the Senate. It was a dumb idea and it will stay a dumb idea, so stop trying to revive it.

IRL, the presiding officer in charge of a session may authorize other congressmen of that house to host. I advise an alternative bill to be hosted. |
