I love math. Heck, I'm in Calculus. I don't have to take the class to graduate, but I want to. I'll never use it in my life with the route I'm going, but I enjoy it all the same.
It's not so much a subject for me as it is a class. God, I despise AP Literature & Composition. I love reading and I love writing, but this class corrupts those for me. It takes a cold approach to literature. I understand analyzing literature, but in that there is room for appreciation. Nope. Not in AP Lit. Here's five papers due at the end of this week. Oh, and we're going to be doing timed essays worth huge parts of your grade every day in class for two weeks. Each day is another essay--another topic. No prep, just read the prompt, choose a book you've read to use as an example and go. Some days it provides a poem to do an explication on, or a selection of prose to analyze according to a specific prompt. And my god is there so much homework. |
