We all have things we like to see and don't like to see in a RP. That could be based on the genre, detail or a number of other factors.
So my questions are?
What is something that makes you consider joining a RP?
And conversely what is something that puts you off a RP? |

I am attracted to RPs with a plot I believe can continue on for awhile and have a demographic. I am put off by RPs with multiple grammar mistakes, bad plots, over excessive character sheets, and are just poorly written or are about a stupid idea.

I am sure it's OOC not OCC, but whatever..
I like NRPs and ISRPs much. What attracts me to a RP is its idea and plot. The idea must be new and unique, not just a cliche, maybe a cliche but in a new way. The plot is important too, it makes the person feels like he/she is in a new world.
What I hate in a RP, is bad grammar, cliche ideas, stolen ideas, bad plots, and I basically hate Hero-RPs. |

I like roleplays that are moron proof and a gary stu/mary stu free zone. Roleplays really need to capture the attention of the reader. If I don't like the hook of a roleplay, I'm not going to touch it. Another factor that interests me is mechanics. These are especially useful in free roamers. Mechanics need to be fresh and interesting, not just a shop system. Finally, it's how much of a reputation the OP has. Is the OP a moron? Is it someone new? Is it someone respected? Is it one of my friends? |

Thanks guys.
@rock, its interesting that you bring in the OP factor. That is certainly something that I think subconsciously effects a few people when they decide to join a RP. |

What makes me join a roleplay is...
...I don't know. Maybe if the story interests me I might join the roleplay. |

| The genre of the game/thread is what makes me join a RP game/thread. I'm really into apocalypse RP, and survival RP, like you're a survivor of a plane crash or something. I'm put off when the genre is something I'm not into, like sci-fi, or a RP based on another game. |

@Rock,
"If I don't like the hook of a roleplay, I'm not going to touch it."
That's hilarious. |

| But it's a false statement. If you don't join it, then you troll it. |

| Trolling involves "touching" the roleplay. |
