First of all, I'm NOT suggesting voluntary human extinction. I'm saying that right now, we have enough people to ensure the next generation, so it's pointless for this generation to breed.
First of all, overpopulation is a looming problem. It is a simple fact that we are running out of resources, and more people will just deplete the resources faster.
The next two reasons are more personal: childbirth, and the period leading up to it, is an incredibly painful and stressful process. Is it really worth going through? If you really want a child, you can adopt. Sure, there's a lot of red tape, but you'd be giving a child who has nothing a better life, rather than bringing another resource-sucking brat into the world. |

| But that doesn't mean it's necessary to stop having children at this day and age. |

| i agree, i'll never have a child, it's just too much stress, and there's like a 50% chance they'll be born with a deformity or get into bad habits or something |

@Zeriten
No there is not.
The chance of a baby having a disorder such as down syndrome is about less than 1% when you're younger than 30. As we know, cells break down as they age, so that percentage will rise, but it's such a small chance. |

| There is plenty of space and resources available on this planet for people. The problem is people are having more kids than they can take care of and are turning to society to raise them. We shouldn't advocate no reproduction, but more responsibility in raising a family. We shouldn't have to carry the burden people have brought onto themselves. |

well they'll still get into some problems at school or something
and yeah i think people should think of the long-run, and have some sort of plan before they decide to "hey lets reproduce!" |

@Zac
Ummmm... I'm not advocating for abstinence, I'm advocating against purposely having children.

| whenever your natural being here is to be fruitful and popping out a kid every nine months then any deviation of that should be a sin |

slowing down birthrates in the first world does nothing to stop overpop, they're already declining anyway
sax education and birth control in the developing world is the best solution
