Anyone that has played the PS3 exclusive game "The Last of Us" knows that the zombies have fungus growing off of them. These zombies are known as "clickers." What most people don't know is that the fungus is very real. It currently only infected bugs, but it is evolving at an alarming rate. It currently infects ants, arachnids, most flying insects, centipedes, etc. It has most recently begun to infect pigs, one of our closest related animals, anatomically wise.

If any of those words are hashtagged, you are probably using the "whitelist" feature, and most of the words in that list are not in the Roblox dictionary. If you are 13+ you should see all of those words.
________________________________________________________________________________ The Process:
Plant -> Spore -> Contamination -> Unusual behavior -> Death -> Reanimation -> Aggression -> Death -> Re-sprout ________________________________________________________________________________
Now to see how this infection will react in a the real world
________________________________________________________________________________ The Scenario:
A healthy ant stumbles across a strange mushroom. A gas is emitting from its surface, and this ant inhales it. The ant continues on its journey back to its colony. A little while later it begins to twitch. It acts unusual. After an hour or so the ant slowly dies of suffocation. The body of the ant twitches as new life enters its body. This life is the life of the fungus, Cordyceps. It attacks any and all living beings in its way. When the shell of the ant begins to decompose, and rot it can no longer move. The mushroom that infected the ant sprouts from its head, growing spores. These spores release toxin to infect any survivors of the ant's aggression. Spiders, centipedes, flies, and even swine are infected by the ant's toxin. The infection spreads like wildfire. ________________________________________________________________________________
If you have any questions about Cordyceps please feel free to post it. I will answer it as best as I can.

| @awesomestinky123 Yeah, the possibility is great. Pigs and humans are very close as far as the internal system is concerned. I have dissected a pig, and the inside is very similar to that of a human. With that being said, we could be seeing signs of Cordycep infections in humans soon. It may not be in our lifetime, but for all we know it could have already evolved. It's hard to say. |
