This summer, I am starting to make indie horror games. I'm taking inspiration from many indie horror games while keeping it a little different. One of the biggest things that I need to learn is making detailed and realistic NPC's. A game that I will work on is taking inspiration from, 'Kraven Manor' and I'll make my games not full out pop-ups and jumpscares but keep it on the extreme level of creepy.

Well assuming this is on roblox, you can't rely heavily on 'looking scary' rather you should manipulate lighting and sounds to make it feel scarier. There was a game I forgot now that was super cute and scary.

Kraven Manor is a good game to get inspiration from here is what you may need:
1. Scripting skills 2. Building skills 3. Creepy audio 4. Scary jumpscare noise etc. |

Good luck to you mate! I myself is wanted to make more of a fun horror game rather than your average jump scare game. But my suggestion to you... Is music. Music is what sets the mood greatly. It can help the player to get in the mood and feel scared even before anything happens. Flashing lights and closing door helps to of course! :D

@Yourhappay Thanks for the advice! What I'm thinking is having creepy music and sometimes no music to make suspense. I have a synthesizer that I could make creepy music with!
