and its also been scientifically proven that all the carbon dioxide in our atmosphere is coming from humans, not nature. so i dont see why ya'll still listening to them darn politicians, until interstellar travel is possible earth is our only home so why dont we take care of it instead of being the cause for the next mass extension in earths history. |

@skittle possibly venus could've been like earth in its first billion years of existence however natural carbon release from volcanoes destroyed the planet and eventually a asteroid or something impacted hard enough to vaporize its oceans (and send the rest of the water into space), after that the carbon dioxide trapped heat in the planets atmosphere ruining it.
also carbon dioxide from volcanoes is heavier then that released by humans therefor allowing us to know the difference. |

@scatt also if the polar ice caps melt the flood isnt what we should be worried about (chances are it will be very minor)
however the ice on the polar ice caps reflects the incoming sunlight, whilst the water traps it, therefor if the ice caps melted the heat being trapped would go up exponentially. |

"the arctic is melting yet to you it's "only 0.7 degrees"" only that amount by 'global warming' the temperature of the earth changes from time to time people used to freak out about 'global cooling' and how do you explain ice ages

@repotted
you clearly dont understand what carbon dioxide can do in an unstable climate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus |

@OptimumVision what does that have to do with global warming yeah carbon dioxide can screw up a climate but that doesnt prove anything

@repot didnt i just explain that we know that the earth is warming because of humans due to measuring the weight of the carbon in the atmosphere, and along with that how much compared to the previous years. |

@OptimumVision people in europe were arrested for showing false information on global warming i take it you didn't hear of that?

"how does people lying in Europe prove your point in any way?" it proves scientists were showing false information on 'global warming' and not everything you hear can be trusted

@repott if we're putting carbon dioxide into our atmosphere it proves that we're slowly destabilizing our climate, and perhaps in 50 years or so it could get pretty severe. |

@OptimumVision yes, putting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is bad, but 'global warming' isnt an issue at the rate its going at right now

we're focusing on what our generation will experience, not the next generation, nor the generation after that.
short term gain should come over long term survival. |

@OptimumVision i know, but it wont affect anything unless we start producing carbon at some insane rate, which we aren't right now

"insane rate which we aren't right now" we produce millions if not billions of tons of carbon each year, that's multiple times more then what nature releases through volcanoes. "which we aren't doing right now" the millions of auto mobiles around the world releasing carbon from their tailpipes. |

@sly but the more we put in, the more heat it can trap. and it doesn't take much carbon dioxide to destabilize a climate. |
