i'm controlling the volume with a keyboard dial which means a little black box pops up showing me the current volume level. it's in win 8's default ui but i don't know how to disable it.
every time i adjust the volume and go to click a bookmark to the left of the screen it turns the volume up to 100 because i click on the ui and not the bookmark
i miss windows 7 |

| Instead of using your keyboard dial adjust the volume at the bottom right corner |

worst thing is last night at around 3am i was still awake listening to some carach angren (symphonic black metal) while posting on rt and i adjusted the volume to be a little lower then went for a bookmark then all the neighbours and my parents whose room is the other side of the wall could hear was carach angren being blasted at 100% volume through surround sound and a subwoofer |
