| I treat people the same way. I have anger built up, but I use it when people ask for back cracks to fix them. |

@Tappier
If it gets physical, you gotta be like a monk and show him up. You have to wait for him to hit first before practically breaking him. If you have a pacifist reputation, it should support it was in self defense. |

Words have no meaning, we just think they do because they have a definition. Now verbal actions? Those have tons of meaning. You can actually get things done with those. |

'Unless it gets physical of course, then a person needs to tell a teacher.'
Or punch them back in self-defence. Just make sure that the bully throws the first punch, otherwise you'd be in a lot of trouble for starting a physical engagement. |

Words only seem powerful because you put meaning into them. Take out that meaning, and you get what sounds like language. Actions can actually change things, because they require no deeper thinking(most of the time). It's like the difference between telling someone you're going to beat them up and actually beating them up. |

When having to get physical... Its probably best to use defensive moves rather than offense. No one wants to get hurt.
Also, if your at a school...you should probably tell a teacher. If you aren't? If this gets physical in a way...I think this counts as breaking the law in some way. |

'Sometimes getting physical is necessary, but it should be a last resort.'
Agreed. It should be the last resort in a bullying scenario as you can get in trouble yourself if you defend yourself in school. It's stupid, but it happens.
At least if you do get in trouble, the bully won't bother you again (probably), and you know that you are in the right for defending yourself. |

The last time someone got physical with me she ended up getting kicked across the room. I'm nowhere near a violet person but trying to actually hurt me is a pretty poor choice you could make.
On the topic of self defense, it should always be considered if you're getting hurt. Regardless of what school rules say, never let your physical being be harmed. |

The thing about physical aggression is, you're basically taking away the other person's safety whether you know it or not.
On another note, the problem with the school rules is that they think it doesn't matter who started it. While the "who started it" argument can seem childish, it still doesn't apply when your physical being is harmed. When you're being harmed, the first thing you should be caring about is yourself. |

| Hey, I totally agree with you. Plus, people who bother you may have had a bad day and are taking out their anger. It's best to have patience, understanding, and love for everyone. |

I have come pretty close to getting physical with people. I went to a private school with a bunch of jerks who bullied me for being smart because smart=weird in their delusional minds. I came close to throwing punches because nothing else was working.
Teachers barely did anything to stop it. I was getting bullied once in front of some teachers and they did nothing to try to stop it. Only time they did stop it was when this boy physically threatened me, and they expelled him. All other instances where they "tried" to stop it were passive instances (in other words just having assemblies on bullying).
I ended up leaving that school eventually. The bullies came up to me and said "you're leaving? We're gonna miss you so much!" Lies. The only reason they wanted me back was so I could be their verbal punching bag.
Respect the science! |
