basically just income tax |

| actually pure capitalism wouldn't be a good idea because it removes any government support of insurance like unemployment and also removes minimum wage requirement |

you're slightly off but yeah
in an ideal libertarian society there is virtually zero government influence on economics
the government itself is very limited and exists almost purely to prevent monopoly, the only real federal economic control
libertarians believe in what is referred to as a free market
everyone does what they want to with no restriction, safety precautions, unions or dividends and lets the consumer and the money speak for itself |

@sap unemployment and minimum wages are bad smh
and rahvin yeah thats why pure libertarianism isnt always good bc you do need some other government regulation (like for earthquake codes and stuff) but generally it is good |

not really capitalism was a good idea back when people didn't travel out of their towns it meant that competition was actually a thing nowadays if you don't like mcdonalds you can't really make it change by having a town not eat there because it is so huge |

@sap nowadays if you dont like mcdonalds you can go to pizza hut
capitalism really only fails when true monopolies occur and competition is broken |

the idea that capitalism advocates anarchy is utter nonsense
capitalism/communism are economic systems
anarchy/fascism are political systems
it is true that extreme advocates of one form of economic system will generally trend towards a suitably radical political system, but that is not necessarily the norm
capitalism requires government, as it relies heavily on private property rights and enforcement of contracts which require a government with some level of funding and authority |

@SAP
you seem to be denying the fact that McDonalds (and the service industry, in general) have plenty of competitors
you could choose to spend your money at Burger King, Wendy's, Panda Express, Chipotle, Del Taco, or any other fast-food restaurant that tickles your fancy
the real problem with monopolies comes with those that have achieved the status of monopoly through government regulation (i.e. cable providers, which have the exclusive right to lay cable in a certain area)
the monopolies that have achieved their status through government regulation should be subject to government regulation
and I say that as a very ardent capitalist |

| what i'm saying is that you cannot persuade mcdonalds or pizza hut to change their menus unless majority of the customers want it to change you can't just gather a bunch of friends and demand they make tacos |
