That is a pretty nice build. only thing I would upgrade personally, RAM and Power supply. and then eventually an I7 CPU. But overall i like this.

You don't have to get an SSD
People feel like they really need an SSD because of the whole pc building mentality, but I think you should try gaming on a hard drive first. The load times aren't as bad as people say they are, and boot times aren't very relevant on a desktop PC. |

| Thanks for the feedback Elite. I wonder if you'd be surprised that it's pre built. |

| A little. but that would explain the 8GB of ram over 16GB. There is an old saying. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. |

| 16 gbs of RAM is not necessarily needed (although I go with it anyway) and the i5's are good for next gen gaming anyway. If you 'need' to upgrade to an i7, consider OCing you i5 first just to save some money. Also your RAM is kinda slow too 1600 mhz is ok but consider getting like 1866 mhz or above. |

| The only reason to upgrade to an i7 is because of its cores, but most games aren't even optimized for multiple cores anyway so it shouldn't matter. Nor are games as CPU heavy as they used to be, games nowadays are much more GPU heavy. |

| If you're planning on playing The Witcher 3, Star citizen etc. And you aren't building this for a while, you should get an i7, as the games are starting to take advantage of hyper threading. |

holy crap this forum offers horrible advice
since when was an i7 required for gamign? a i5 does completely fine and even an i3 can play modern titles. an i7 is absolute overkill for gaming and i5s often perform 95% as well for 66% of the cost and last just as long.
you don't need more than 8 gigabytes of RAM for gaming, full stop. 16GB is a waste of money for a gaming build.
also, the idea of future proofing is futile. buy what performs to your expectations now. its better to go with mid range and upgrade more often because you don't want to be stuck with an expensive and old high end card for many years. |

| @cool He is trying to future-proof, so that's why I recommended the i7. But you have a point about future pointing. Some study said that it's cheaper to make a build, and simply upgrade the parts in the future, rather than buying a powerful machine all at once. |

| What's wrong with windows 8.1? It boots much faster than 7.. I find it much more efficient. |

futureproof? nope
a year or so i'd say
for a futureproof pc, you'd need more ram, better gpu
Everyone who considers themselves an MLG competitive pro gamer should uninstall life |
