I've been wondering about something lately, and I searched the question up on the internet but nothing came up, does anyone have any idea of how to answer it?
OK, here goes: If you had a portal machine, and you made a portal in your bedroom, and made an even larger portal outside the Earth, in space, bigger than the Earth itself, and the Earth simply drifted toward and through the portal, and into your bedroom (of course, gravity would stop working for the Earth) wouldn't this be a paradox, because if you sent a rocket out of that Earth, in your bedroom, you would just get back in your bedroom again, and therefore it shouldn't be possible because this could possibly destroy the universe itself.
But this is possible as scientists have discovered tiny portals found the the stratosphere, the upper atmosphere, and we have discovered wormholes, well, when I say discovered, hypothesized, but they could still be possible as we have learnt about black holes, and all of that other stuff I mentioned above in this paragraph, so this is possibly possible.
Well, I guess that's the end of my post, i'm really confused here, somebody help me out and tell me what you think could happen. Thanks for reading my post... If you did. |

Oh also, forgot to mention, the more times you went out of that Earth and into your bedroom again, the smaller you would get.

When the earth went though a the portal and ended up in your bed room it would collapse on it self because your bedroom is on earth

Or would it? Maybe the Earth's weight would still be the same yet the mass would be different, so we could be talking about creating a black hole here...

But the portal in your room would go through the larger portal in space because the portal is in your bedroom, which is on earth. So I the earth goes through the portal the other portal will go through the larger one.

But if it created a black hole, would we see two black holes form, or just one? Or would there be four?

idk One portal is bigger than the other so maybe the earth would plug a hole so ur room will have dirt wall or water and you drown and die

Oh wait, one more thing though, your bedroom would collapse itself, that's right, because of the weight and gravity pull of the Earth pulling the bedroom in on itself.

the problem would be that portals don't exist and, according to our current understanding of the laws of physics, a door-way-sized portal won't be stable and will collapse within nanoseconds, let alone an Earth-sized portal

Were just hypothesizing here, maybe we would develop the technology to develop longer lasting portals in the future, like in futuristic films.

legos reply had me laughing
also, imo it's kinda obvious
it'll get stuck exactly half through each side, infinitely looping, so it would look like it's paused
the world would work as normal, except half of it would be in your room, and you could destroy it if you wanted to
but it wouldn't do anything

Oh also, the reason I said 'drifted' was because if you touched the Earth with your hands, it would probably destroy it, as it would create an immense shock wave throughout the Earth, lets just say that the Earth came on the portal slowly and gently, onto the cabinet in your bedroom with your imaginary 'portal machine'

Hmm, so if it's paused, what would happen to the Earth if you tried to push it out of the other side of the portal? Would it not move?

Hmm, perhaps the Earth would start to shrink with you as you kept going out of it back into your bedroom.

Maybe all the water would fall of the Earth, there would be extreme weather on the Earth, gravity would stop working, of course there would still be oxygen though, and the same weather would be everywhere, and all the plates would start to fall apart, and if they didn't fall apart, they would collapse together, bringing your bedroom collapsing with it, or turn your entire bedroom and you into a neutron star, and eventually a black hole.

Exactly, leet.
If you pushed on the earth in your room, you would be pushing the earth through the portal... into itself again.
So it would freeze halfway through, an invincible force.
Now, technically it would be moving, going through it infinitely, but it would appear to be stuck.

I see, so no matter how hard you pushed it, it would keep going through each portal within itself and within itself, over and over again, so although the portals are infinite and it's not moving, it would appear stuck in the space on the outside of the portal, and would actually be drifting through infinite portals? Also, another question, would the air be able to escape the room also?
