Beep. Beep. Beep. A glimmer of sunlight glistens through the window, shining over your sweat-soaked body. The blistering heat appears in burning waves in the air, pulsating through the room.
Your undershirt is entirely soaked through, your covers are strewn about throughout the room, and you're late for work down at the lab. |

I look at a clock to see how late I'm already running, I'd also try to recall how far the lab is.

(finally m8 you posted)
Your alarm clock is still blaring at you, but from the digital clock on it, it appears you're about a half hour late. You ponder for a moment why you even bought an alarm clock if you're never going to set it to wake you up BEFORE work.
The lab is a few miles from here, but currently you've neither showered, gotten dressed, or packed your research to present to the board. |

Then since I'm already late, I shower, get dressed, and pack everything that I need for work, and then head to work however my character does it (sorry for not posting I forgot about this, and came on and remembered)

You leave your apartment, and flick out your car keys. A 'beepbeep' sound emerges from the out of shape silver cadillac, and the doors unlock. There's just one problem.
The wheels are missing, cinderblocks laying in their place. |

There are several ways you could try to get around this problem.
You COULD disregard a mode of transportation, and run to work instead.
You COULD take the subway, but you're already running late, and the train could easily be delayed.
You COULD ask your landlord if you could borrow their car.
And finally, you COULD steal that little girl's pink bike that she always leaves in front of your car, making it a pain to pull out without smashing it. |

You begin sprinting down the sidewalk, shuffling through morning crowds heading to work. The blistering summer heat begins to wear you down as your sprint turns into a tired jog, and you drop your briefcase by accident.
Click.
Your briefcase snaps open, sending your research flying through the air. You have to catch it! |

You scramble to grab the papers, catching most of them. But one final page slowly falls down like a feather, landing in a pool of dirty water. Grabbing the paper, you try your best to rinse it off, but a large ink smudge is now in the place of an important calculation for the experiment.
You continue to the lab as normal, finally arriving about an hour late and approaching the doors. |

Hurrying over with papers flapping through the wind and obstacles coming at you from every corner, you tumble into the board room just as they're preparing to get up and leave.
If you don't act fast, both your presentation and your job will be at stake. |

(sorry I'm sick that's why I haven't been posting on this) The board members talk amongst themselves in understanding, and turn to stare at you once more. Leonard, the CEO, is the first to speak.
"Well?" Leonard asks. "We're waiting." He continues, referencing your presentation on dark matter you have yet to give. |

Well, obviously there is only one thing I can do, I start giving the presentation and while I do it, I try to remember the important calculation that was smudged when I dropped it earlier

(its a me mareo)
Your presentation seems to go smoothly. You finish with a one-liner joke, and hope for the best. And...
They buy it! The board is completely sold on your experiment. With equipment already set up from the last dark matter experiments, you are quickly ushered out into the lab to set the procedure up.
A few hours pass, and a sphere of crystal is placed into the testing chamber while you watch from above. You're ready to load up the final few calculations into the machine, which, unfortunately, were smudged from your earlier escapade. |

The experiment begins as you watch from the viewing chamber. A mechanical hand begins whirring as two devices above it fire out two clashing beams of light. The beams of light converge directly above the hand, charging it with a chartreuse-colored energy that crackles and surges unnaturally.
The hand moves forward into empty space, and plunges into the air itself. It vanishes, as if tearing into reality and space, and withdraws holding a blackened orb.
Suddenly, an alarm goes off. The calculations were off as it seems, and the machine begins whirring irradically as the chartreuse energy begins to overload it and the orb of darkness begins to warp the space around the chamber.
Half of the viewing chamber is shadowed in pure darkness, while the other half is blast by an extreme surge of the chartreuse energy. You feel every atom of your body vaporize as the shadows engulf and devour the room.
Hours pass, or maybe days. You feel your consciousness reforming.
You awake in your bed as the alarm goes off, with no memories of the previous event. You're late for work! |

It's gone.
The whole thing. It's just an empty plot of land, as if no building ever existed there. A slightly charred piece of the building's sign falls down from a nearby tree, confirming the lab was, at least once upon a time, in this area. |
