OKAY NO
THAT WAS A WOLF SPIDER, A CARING SPECIES OF SPIDER WHO CARRY THEIR BABIES ON THEIR BACKS UNTIL ADULTHOOD (all 2000 of them), AND THAT D-BAG JUST KILLED THEM!
Spiders are gentle animals, and unlike insects THEY CAN FEEL PAIN. Not only are they alarmingly intelligent, but their nervous system is also more than simple data being received and sent out.
that video is disgusting. |

tai the guy in the video just orphaned baby spiders
if any survived, they're probably going to starve to death. the mother feeds, protects, and keeps them warm.
he made it as painful as possible for those babies... |

if a spider carrying 100+ babies infiltrated my home, I would do the same
though I'd probably just flush so I wouldn't risk having tons of spider babies infesting every nook and cranny of my home |

I don't see the big problem with spiders. They eat mosquitoes and never bite unless you attack or scare them (which, in most cases, makes them run away, not bite you); how bad can they possibly be? |

| Tai, aren't you christian? How do you have such little respect for life, especially life that can not only feel pain but also compassion like any mammal can. Even if you don't believe animals have immortal souls, doesn't that make their life MORE valuable since they don't go anywhere when they die? |

| Yes, if I had a big spider in my home and had no way to get it outside, I would end it's misery. If I had a long stick or something, out it goes on that stick. The stick that was used to carry it would be burned, too. |

| What does Christianity have to do with the life of a spider?... It sounds like you're likening the life of a human to the life of a spider. |

Tai, technically humans are both of those things, too. We're more detrimental to the environment than any animal and humans didn't always have houses. :\

Tai, would you smash a dog if it was lost and stuck in your house?
Because spiders are around a similar intelligence, depending on the species. |

Tai, you're forgetting that we're the stewards of the Earth. God made us to protect his creation, not to stomp on it and slaughter it mercilessly. |

"Tai, would you smash a dog if it was lost and stuck in your house?"
No, why would I do that?
"Because spiders are around a similar intelligence, depending on the species."
But it's culturally justifiable and acceptable to kill a spider. If I lived in Korea or something, then I probably wouldn't mind killing a dog (they eat dog meat, right?). |
