To be honest, some of these scripted games look good, but to me they are only there to show off with flashing imagery and animations.
And it is really sad too. I recall to the older days (to be truh 2008) when the games were mostly a landscape with blocks added on eachother to make steps or simple arenas, maybe looked simple back then but we all had our good times with it.
Now-a-days, its pretty much impposible to get any veiws without powerfull scripting knowledge and cunning of the same sort.
Thoughts on the future of scripted games.
For what i have seen is that they are infact pretty advanced and i give the creators kudos for it, but maybe a tad to ambitous? like that arena game.
I think in the future, maybe five or less years from now, the scripted games will become so advanced that they become games inside a game, and that would be roblox.
Other then this, i think we just have become to lazy with these easy way scripts, in the older days we had to build and use our imaginaton for help, and i think thats why i prefear the older games.
I did not make this to appear snide and rude to those who built and scripted their games, this was my oppinion.
What do you think?

^ Depends I started trying to learn to script when I was 9 it took me a year just to understand how to make my own V.I.P door, now I can easily make things like GUI shops, Code Givers and more given the time.
But scripting is really self-learning 99% of ROBLOXians dont get lessons on how to script they use the WIKI and then really figure it out themselves. |

I think it's really great that roblox has higher standards now. Back then, it was ESCAPE THIS and ESCAPE THAT and BUILD TO SURVIVE A this and BUILD TO SURVIVE A that. The community was of a lot more young kids, and now we have a lot more experienced game makers today.
There's also still a lot of games that have imagination and unique concepts (and good building) Look at some of my games for an example. I think they're more unique compared to a lot of the games on the front page. :D |
