Re: The Regulators (Western Roleplay)

In the Wild West, lawmen tried the best they could to keep crime to a minimum.
Sheriffs to protect the towns, Marshals to cover wide spaces of land, and deputies to have each of the previous's backs.
But sometimes, it took a little something... extra.
That's where the Regulators come in.
You see, anyone can be a lawman, but only the best shooters in the West could be regulators. You had to be tough. You had to be brave.
But, most importantly, you needed to be good with a gun.
You are a deputy; an under-appreciated deputy, who's stopped more crimes than any other deputy in your office. Yet your sheriff looks at you like scum, and you get paid next to nothing. You heard that three of the fifteen regulators have died, and a position is open.
However, the life of a Regulator is dangerous. They do, however, make enough money to be able to retire after only ten years of work; too bad none have ever made it past their 7th year.
You decide enough is enough. For days, you ride to the regulator headquarters.
[][][]Rulebook[][][]
Welcome to the Regulators. In this game, you will play campaigns to bring justice to the wild west. Here are how the rules work:
1. This is a GURPS system. You will have 40 points to fill out stats on your character sheet, and outcomes will mostly be decided on dice.
2. Stats MUST be between 1 and 20. 1 to 4 is 'crippling', 5 to 8 is bad, 9 to 11 is average, 12 to 15 is good, and 16 to 20 is amazing.
3.There are two Character Sheets: a required Character Sheet that you post in the forum and an optional CS I have a link to that you can fill out and send to me in a PM. The optional CS is intended to help you think deeper about your character. If you decide to do the optional CS, submit it first. If I accept it, you can have 10 extra stat points to distribute.
4. Except for "Other," all fields must be filled in your Character Sheet(s).
5. No whining.
6. No godmodding.
7. No trolling.
8. No inspiring trolling.
9. No Flaming.
10. Breaking Roblox Rules is your risk, NOT MINE.
11. I am the Game Master. Therefore, I am god.

| It is a fairly stripped down and modified GURPS system. unfortunately i couldn't find much on GURPS rules and now is not a convenient time for me to hunt down a rulebook at Barnes & Noble. |

| There is a large file available that includes all of the books in pdf format which is really good. It also has a large number of the online magaizine issues, some other supplemental material and all of the 3rd edition. |

I've wanted a roleplay of this style for awhile now, however I'm in quite a few ongoing roleplays at the moment, so I apologize if I never do get around to making a CS. I'll attempt to though.

@Shrek, you did mostly ok, but a couple things are wrong;
Name: Tyler Madidge Jakes Nickname: Ty' Meaning of name: First two letters of his name
What I mean by that is what does you actual name mean? Examples: Rex means 'King,' Celeste means 'heavenly,' and Victor.... is am obvious one.
Origin of name: His friends began to call him Ty' in exciting situations. Age: 32 Gender: Male Blood type: AB Astrological sign: Leo Chinese zodiac: Horse Nationality: American Ethnicity: White Race/Species: White
Normally I would rip on you for this, but since humans are the only species, I'll let it slide.
Police/Criminal/Legal record: None Social class as a child: Didn't care much for a social life, was often off exploring with a friend. Social class as an adult: Badly, as said before.
Your SOCIAL LIFE is how you are with other people. Your SOCIAL CLASS is how rich you/your family is.
Birth date:July 26th Birth place: Tucson, Arizona Current residence: Flagstaff, Arizona Occupation: Law enforcement, soon regulator Title/Rank: Deputy Hobbies/Pastimes: Shooting, drinking, exploring, hunting Talents/Skills/Powers: Hunting, his occupation ----- [ Past History ] ----- Hometown: Tucson First Memory: His father teaching him to ride a horse Most important childhood event(s) that still affects him/her; how/why: His father getting an influenza, and dying Past failures s/he would be embarrassed to have people know about and why: Getting kicked by a horse. (I should have mentioned this, so it isn't your fault; You pretty much start with no weapons.)

(The optional CS is filled with waaaaay too much useless info, so here's the required one. Also, what about our horses? I'd enjoy making a CS for Lance's steed.)
Name: Lance Hewitt Age: 32 Gender: M
Appearance: Lance is an average-sized male, standing at 5'11 and weighing in at 154 pounds. He has a lithe figure, his weight being evenly distributed across his body. Due to his light weight, he lacks muscle which is essential to getting the gritty things done and is thus quite a setback on many terms. Facially, Lance has a black stubble with chops that encompasses his mouth, short, messy, black hair, weathered brown eyes, an average-sized nose, and an overall well-tanned skin tint.
Clothing: A canvas duster trench coat in the shade of light brown, a classic midnight black work vest equipped with a y-shaped back brace underneath said duster, a pair of light brown trousers, a classic black gambler hat, a charcoal neckerchief made of silk, and a pair of worn leather boots which are equipped with spurs.
Personality: Lance is more of the observant type, often watching from a far with a twisted face. Once engaged in a conversation though, many will find that he's easy to converse with and is usually open to cracking a few jokes here and there. He's a serious fellow though, so he won't be going around trying to crack many jokes or indulge in some other activity when things start to heat up. He does keep his cool in those types of hot situations, but he wasn't always like that. He used to be a hot-head who got panicky in combat scenarios that weren't exactly life-threatening, but his decade of work has changed and since then erased this flaw. Another thing that his decade of harsh work has done to him, for better or worse, is desensitized him. He no longer feels guilt when making a life-threatening choice for someone else, no longer feels black melancholy when he takes someone's life, no longer quivers when he pulls that trigger which undoubtedly is the difference between someone living to see another day or hitting the ground in an instant. Although a few see him as a useful asset due to this trait, many others see him as a cold-hearted murderer.
Bio: Lance grew up a farmboy in rural Arizona with his father and mother. Although his family wasn't exactly dysfunctional, Lance hated the work that he had to do on the farm, especially since the only downtime he got was when he was able to shoot a couple slugs into some empty bottles he had taken from the bar in town. Rather than being a farmer all his life, Lance sought after adventure and he was able to get a small taste of it every time he was able to ride into town to see the lawmen on duty. Their grit and weary eyes were admirable in Lance's eyes. Lance knew, even after only a few visits, that he was going to strike out on his own as a lawman come year eighteen of his life and ride the uncharted territory of Arizona, seeking out bandits and rag-tags in the badlands. Unfortunately, that time couldn't come soon enough though. When he turned fourteen his mother became sick with dropsy and died only a week later. Lance's father practically collapsed and... Well, Lance chooses to not acknowledge what happened during those four years of his life.
During his time in the law though, Lance amassed quite a few achievements as a lawman. For example, on one of his first assignments, he ended up pumping some vital information about a once-standing gang out of a lone bandit through some pretty uncanny interrogation "exercises." This information allowed Lance's department to track down the group and surround them which secured Lance a name out in the badlands practically from day one. His career in taking down the scum of the uncharted west only progressed from their and it has only gotten better since. His astute thinking and his uncanny aim only helped him accomplish such feats. The biggest takedown of his continuing career would most certainly be the shootout where he and his accomplice took down 13 gang members at their headquarters. How? Through careful planning, long shots, and an extended period of time which ended up accumulating to over three days. He's had a few more takedowns and great feats since then, but none have been very significant up to this point in his life.
