Just because they are WAY too much simple doesn't means they aren't alive! let's discuss about it

Viruses kill.
Damn, I forgot to add my siggy. | But, what if I don’t want a siggy? | Is it logical that I want to go outside? |

its not alive because it doesn't fall under the category of a living thing
the smallest living thing is a cell a virus is wayy smaller than a cell
and besides, viruses don't aim to go places, they diffuse. they're not living
there's your biology for the day
Excuse me, but that's inappropriate for school. |

Hum... ...But you should consider that they are the only ones that multiply but can't multiply only by themselves. There aren't other things that multiply themselves via other cell other than viruses.

the only reason they aren't considered living is because they require a host cell to reproduce (i believe that's why)
technically, they still have the ability to reproduce, thus meaning they ARE living organisms |

I understand, but i think you interpreted my last sentence wrongly. What i meant was that there isn't anything, any non-living matter that behave like viruses. Virus not being alive is like saying fishes are frogs that don't want to come out of water. they are unique, they breathe underwater, unlike other anphibios.

Viruses may be able to reproduce, creating identical copies but they follow no other common characteristics of life.

@random prions don't have an actual DNA or RNA
@lagio but all living beings have only one life "mission" that is to reproduce thirst, hunger and breathing (and sometimes fermentation) are nothing moree nothing less than ways to make reproduction possible/easier

yeah but those processes are essential to ALL life except for viruses
is all life the odd one out compared to the viruses
or are viruses the odd one out compared to all life |
