Old Guard Handbook
The following will contain all you need to know to start your career in the most elite fighting unit in France. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Table of Contents

I. Be mature at ALL times when on duty.
II. Address High Ranks by using Sir or Ma'am.
III. Respect ALL fellow members.
IV. Any form of prejudice is NOT tolerated.
V. Wear the correct uniform for your rank. (Uniforms for the Old Guard will be out soon/or are out now, depending on when you read this)
VI. Obey all reasonable orders from your officers, NO will never be and answer for ANY soldier.
VII. 'Flaming' is prohibited, you are to greet our enemies with steel not words.
VIII. Do NOT spam or advertise on the group wall, it will result in demotion.
A. Terms
All soldiers of the Old Guard are required to speak in terms at ALL times while on patrol unless instructed otherwise. Terms are to keep soldiers from talking out of turn, so it is easily noticeable when someone speaks out of their terms, therefor the officers jobs are easier. Your terms are YES NO SIR/MA'AM
Instead of PTS we say SIR BAD: PTS SIR Good: SIR Officer: SPEAK
B. Caps
Caps is used to represent a clean and easy way to talk. When you use caps, you do not use punctuation, so you may speak faster and easier. You don't need to use Periods or Commas, although its recommended, it is not REQUIRED.

[LR GUIDE] To rise through the low ranks, you need simply to follow the rules, and remain activity, maturity, and show honor.
[MR GUIDE] Becoming and ascending through the middle ranks requires the same things as the low ranks, but also requires showing leadership abilities.
[OiT] Becoming an officer in training requires all of the previous and exceptional leadership capabilities. This is the stage where all members who are not fit for a high rank are weeded out.
[HR GUIDE] Becoming a high rank requires all that was previously mentioned, polished leadership skills, fierce loyalty, and profound activity, along with extreme determination and honor.

Firing with ease and with a decent amount of organization are the key to winning a battle.
Lets start off with the bayonet rule. The bayonet rule is simple,
Bayonet Fixed - Do NOT reload after firing nor go shoulder arms.
Bayonet Unfixed - Reload RIGHT AFTER you fire and go shoulder arms (F) RIGHT AFTER you fire.
There is also a difference in what you call Muskets if their Bayonets are fixed or not.
Bayonets Fixed - Present (ARMS)
Bayonets Unfixed - Present (FIRELOCKS)
The firing sequence is easy. This is a firing sequence without bayonets fixed. PRESENT FIRELOCKS (Only when the soldiers are at shoulder firelocks or order firelocks) AIM FIRE Wait until the last man is at shoulder arms then repeat this.
Alternate firing sequence with bayonets fixed PRESENT ARMS (Only when the soldiers are at shoulder arms or order arms) AIM FIRE (Wait until everyone is done firing) RELOAD (Once everyone is done firing) AIM FIRE (Repeat last 3 steps)

There are certain types of firing, I want you all to know them so that there isnt any confusion in battle. Memorize this!
Volley Fire - Regular fire that includes all members of a line firing at the exact time the officer says fire. You must fire EXACTLY when the officer says fire, and do not wait. Ex: VOLLEY FIRE
Ripple Fire - One man firing once at a time from either Right to left or left to right. Each shot should be 2/4ths of a second apart, no pauses. Ex: RIPPLE FIRE FROM THE LEFT
Blanket Fire - Blanket fire is when the the line infantry volley fire automatically for however many times the officer says, or until he says stop. Ex: 6 ROUNDS OF BLANKET FIRE
Grape shot Grape shot is a confusing type of shot and is mostly not used in ROBLOX due to its complexity. there are to types of grape shot
Regular grape shot:
Lets say theres a line of 7 men
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 - - - - - - -
When the officer says GRAPE SHOT the line will then fire from the outside to the inside. Ex: 1 2 3 4 3 2 1 - - - - - - - Ones fires first, twos second, threes third, and fours four, ect.
Inverted grape shot:
Inverted grape shot is the same thing except inverted. Ex: 4 3 2 1 2 3 4 - - - - - - -
The man/men in the middle fire first, from inside to outside. The opposite of regular grape shot.

Formations are an important part of line battles.
Here are some basic non-complex ones, because there isnt a need for complex formations.
COLUMN A column formation is a vertical formation from front to back and can be however many columns the officer says. Ex: FORM ONE COLUMN | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
LINE/FILE A line is a horizontal line that goes from Side to Side. Ex: FORM TWO LINES/FILES

WEDGE Wedge is exactly how it sounds, it is shaped exactly like one. Ex: WEDGE FORMATION 1 2 - 2 3 - - 3 - -
SQUARE Square formation is really just a square Ex: FORM SQUARE
