I saw this thread elsewhere, but unfortunately I can't seem to find the specific thread. I am reposting this idea in my own words.
[For those who don't like to read, the short version is at the bottom.] [Introducton] ROBLOX has made the target audience for ROBLOX around 8+. This has been obvious, considering they've blocked profane words. However, people have found ways to get around these filters, and pretty much say what they want, when they want.
[Idea] My suggestion implies that ROBLOX censor abbreviations and user-made typos, that are obviously a form of moving around a censored word. For example, a user can't go and say, 'What the -,' but they can say 'wtf.'
[Examples] Now, let's remember the target audience for ROBLOX, which I've previously stated. It's around 8+. Yes, if you go on Xbox Live, you will hear a bunch of 8-year-olds using every profane word they know. However, most online interactions for those games are not rated by the ESRB. (ESRB is a game rating company that usually doesn't rate online interactions.) However, ROBLOX has censored these online chats, unlike the ESRB. So, if a mother doesn't want her kid listening to that junk, she would take them somewhere where they advertise a safe environment for kids. OH LOOK! ROBLOX's franchise is built off of the fact that is provides a safe online building and playing environment for ALL ages! But, if we have people being rude and profane, ROBLOX has lost a customer, and that kid will inherit that language.
Let's say there's a younger kid on there. If people are saying those censorships, the kid would be curious. Say the kid was 5, and he looked up 'what does wtf mean.' He would find that it was a bad word, and his dad would find out. The kid could also inherit that language. Or, let's take it a step further. Let's say the kid didn't know what 'f-' meant. If he looked it up, his childhood would be over.
[Summary] So, here is the reason I think ROBLOX should censor abbreviations, such as 'wtf.' Also, people can use typos of the word, but it would still be obvious. I didn't really hit on those points, but that is part of my suggestion.
[Short version] Censor things like 'wtf,' because they mean the same thing as the word. Also censor typos of bad words. |

@Awesome;
No, ROBLOX's target audience is 8+. 8-year-olds should not use that language. Ever. |

@Ouet;
I apologise for wanting to follow my religion.
The Bible says not to let any unwholesome words come from your mouth.
I know that what goes in must come out. Therefore, we should not allow the bad stuff to go in, or it will come out. |

8 year olds hear swearing all the time rofl. Where I come from I hear kids who are about 5 swearing sometimes. I don't swear myself because it sounds dirty and unintelligent but I did when i was 8, and so did almost everyone I knew. |

@Awes;
Proves my point further. The first example tells a story, very possible to happen, of a mother who doesn't want their kids hearing that. ROBLOX should be able to abide by what they pride theirselves in, which is where my idea comes into play.
Also, cursing is common where I am, too. I agree with you, it makes people sound unintelligent. |

Yes, he can get banned for that. You could explain to him that using those words don't make you sound 'cool.' |

If they don't hear these words on Roblox, they're just gonna see it somewhere else. Nothing's going to change.

xDistur well thats okay, idk if it's necessary to remove "wtf" you can also try to ignore it or dont use it, or have some kind of system in your stettings to put in words you dont want to see on the site or in-game

"Censor things like 'wtf,' because they mean the same thing as the word. Also censor typos of bad words." Grow up. I learned that when I was 5. Like any of the kids care.

You can't protect children from this dangerous world forever. And what's so bad about swearing, it's not like you went to hell. And lastly, they are just children, they will one day just wise up. |

| Support. Whenever I see a kid swearing it makes me so mad that they think they're sooo cool, when it actually makes them look even younger and like they're just begging for attention. |

| As I said in a few other posts, i think that people with accounts with age 13+ should be able to hear (uncensored) cuss words... |

6-12yr olds could end up using this language in real life, which is a very serious thing because they might get badly punished. |

| Kids will be kids. It comes down to parenting and how the parents raise their child. The main reason why Roblox censored some words is because they want to remain the leading safe online building game so they can constantly bring in new players (who may even purchase BC). |
