@segar
1. Why do you think you're so important that other people should check the link for you? Have you ever considered getting off your high horse and being the link checker yourself?
2. Why do you even need a link check? Are you new to the internet? Are you afraid of a jump scare or some gross website? I'd recommend getting used to those if you're going to use the internet at any sort of frequent basis. |

The threat of viruses and kl's has increased a hell of a lot since 1995, it wasn't nearly as much as a threat back then. I assume you're new to this, but many websites have hidden code to send your ip to someone (possibly you), which you could later use to DDoS that person and/or find his location and personal info.

OH GOD
MY SIDES ARE IN ORBIT
"I assume you're new to this...send your IP to someone...find his location and personal info"
1. It is IMPOSSIBLE, I repeat, 100% GODFREAKINGDAMNIT IMPOSSIBLE for a link to run any programs on your computer. It is, and I say it again as a college student in computer science and a web master, IMPOSSIBLE. Web code is insanely restrictive for the very purpose of preventing any software, like keyloggers or viruses, to be ran without the user's consent. The worst they could do is just download the virus file, but then you'd still have to click it yourself to run it. You can just delete it if they did that.
2. You cannot trace someone's location with their IP unless you have access to ISP records. IP addresses don't lead to a person's location. They lead to a person's ISP and you have to contact the ISP to find the person. Unless this person is so skilled he can hack an ISP, well, I'd wonder why some top Chinese team of superhackers is specifically targeting you.
3. DDoSing takes a ton of internet power. It doesn't work with just one computer, you need a ton of different computers all doing it together. Even then, you can simply call up your ISP and have them block the DDoSers and you're usually golden. |
