wouldnt it make more sense to use the 24 hour clock than the 12 hour clock i mean having 24 hours instead of two sets of 12 makes things less confusing |

| I just got used to the AM and PM times and I don't want anybody already changing it to a 24 hour clock. |

"or am i just over-thinking this whole thing"
you could say "two PM"
just like "oh it's 5 PM" |

Because it's too difficult trying to put 24 numbers on a traditional clock. If you'd try putting that on a clock tower no one could see what the exact time was. Also it would be harder to read the exact minute.
"because america wants to make people stupid"
No, the clock was created based off the sun dial used in ancient Greece. Time was measured by the sun and it would make a near rotation around the dial during the day time, however there would be no proper light to indicate night, so night time became the other half of the cycle. It's why the sun is atop the sky at noon.
Also OP, US military does the clock system that way, but only because they will have tasks and missions that need to be done at say 3 in the morning or 11 at night.
Also your comment on if someone says it's 2 then look outside. If its daylight you wouldn't think its AM. This goes for all the times based on whether its night out or not. |
