Comic books have changed the market in modern times. TV shows and movies alike have all depicted the famous heroes and their fearless journeys. Though, some movies were better than the rest. Today we're counting down the top ten comic book movies. Grab some popcorn and let's get started!
Number 10-Predator: Starting off our list is a movie mainly known for its one liners. Ever heard of; "If it bleeds we can kill it"? Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as an overly macho seal on the hunt for some lost comrades, and are then hunted by the Predator. This movie captured the Predator in its entirety and did quite well in theaters. I guess now we can "get to the choppah"!
Number 9-Hellboy: Albeit a quite odd anti-hero, Hellboy certainly beat everyones expectations on his journey to the big screen. Ron Perlman stars as a demonic entity known as Hellboy who was originally going to be used by the Axis Powers to defeat The Allies in WWII. He was eventually taken by one of the allies and kept secret for 64 decades. Luckily enough, the movie captured the feel and excitement of the comic book and did extremely well in theaters.
Number 8-Daredevil: Probably one of Marvels most well-known knight is Daredevil. This film stars Ben Affleck as Daredevil who is a blind crimefighter hailing from Hells Kitchen, New York. By day he's a defense attorney. By night he's a superhero. Although this is a pretty obvious contradiction, the film was quite entertaining. Although it wasn't well recieved by critics, it is widely popular and eventually spawned a show on Netflix.
Number 7-Ghost Rider: Number seven here was pretty popular around the early 2000's. Starring Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze, Ghost Rider documents what happens when a daredevil (pun intended) makes a deal with the devil. Although he starts off as a pawn used by the devil, by the end he eventually betrays them. Although it did well in theaters, it scored pretty mediocre. Let's just not discuss the sequel.
Number 6-Green Lantern: This superhero flick was the film everyone wanted... and was then disappointed upon its release. Starring Ryan Reynolds as the infamous Hal Jordan, this egotistic and goofy pilot somehow earns the trust of a dying alien to become Earths very own Green Lantern. As shady as this sounds, he somehow defeats a maniacal midget who summons the spirit of fear to wreak havoc upon Earth. Geez, this is probably why it did so bad in theaters. Either way, due to the hype and popularity of the film at the time, this earns number 6.
Number Five-Iron Man: Iron Man is a pretty decent mediator on our endles climb to number one. Known as the official start of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Iron Man earned a ton of respect from viewers alike. Starring Robert Downey Jr. as an eccentric billionaire playboy philanthropist, the film documents Toney Starks journey on becoming Iron Man. Not only did this film exceed box office expectations, it also was critically acclaimed. Thus it launched Marvel into the mainstream audience.
Number Four-Guardians of the Galaxy: Number four here takes us back into modern times. This film stars a group of galactic rejects, Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon and Groot respectively, on their quest to guard the galaxy. Combining just enough comedy and action into a superhero film helped launch this series straight into the hearts of the viewers. And just to think 20 years ago the only place you'd see them was in the trash. This film was at the top of the box office for a pretty long time and was critically acclaimed.
Number Three-Spider-Man 2: While most sequels aren't typically that great, Spider-Man 2 was pretty good. Back in the early 00's, superhero films were less than lackluster. The movie stars Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, a pizza delivering, photo-taking, verbaly abused college student who is in a relationship with a girl who can't make up her mind. By night, he's Spiderman. The person Mary Jane likes better than him. Pretty weird, right? On a more serious note, the film is set 2 years after the events of Spiderman. It documents the emotional and psychological effects of Peter being established as Spiderman as well as the psychological effects that turned Doctor Octavious into Doctor Octopus. Because of the films great use of drama and cause-and-effect format, it was nominated for 3 oscars and several Saturn awards, including best fantasy production and best picture.
Number Two-The Avengers: Probably the most anticipated Marvel film ever, the Avengers shows how to tie in everything perfectly. The film reprises all of the heroes as one mega team who is sent to save the world from Loki's evil plot. The film shows how unorganized and frustrated they are with eachother but then begin to warm up to eachother when times get tough. Due to the film relying heavily on continuity it did really well int he box office and was nominated for several awards.
Number One-The Dark Knight: Arguably the best DC film, The Dark Knight was a masterpiece in its own right. Starring Christian Bale as Batman, the film documents the rise of the Joker and the effects he's had on Gothams criminal world as well as the effect he's having on Wayne Enterprises. The film also documents the rise and fall of Harvey dent and the strained relationship between him and Bruce Wayne. Due to the dark and gothic tone of the film, it did exceptionally well in the box office and won several awards.

>Guardians Of The Galaxy I'm sorry did I read that right?
"Guardians of the Galaxy."
No. Just No.
The whole movie for an hour and a half was just people arguing boringly as the plot moves sooooooo slow. Then the last quarter is just stupid action scenes. The plot was also predictable *SPOILERS* I knew he would get the Awesome Mix Vol. 2 and none the characters were interesting except the Raccoon because he is A Combination of Al Capone and Jean Claude Van Damme. But the post credits scene was the best because we need more Howard the Duck. The soundtrack was the only thing I really liked about the movie because It is rare we have something like this.
But that is just me. |

If you want to know my top 5, then here it is:
5: Spider-Man 2
Great action, very likable characters, good conflicts, lots of drama, amazing.
4: Spider-Man
I thought this was the ultimate Spider-Man movie. The whole cast is great, the drama is there, the action is top notch, everything is awesome about it.
3: Captain America: The First Avenger
I love the 3D, the acting is great, the characters are cool, the visuals are spectacular, everything about Captain America is great.
2: The Avengers
This is before 2013 where all the Marvel Movies where immature and bad until it was resurrected from Captain America The Winter Soldier... kind of. But The Avengers has everything. Great chemistry, fun action scenes, memorable characters and is an important step into Phase 2.
1: X-Men: Days Of Future Past
My Favorite. I know it's recent, but The whole thing was just mind blowing. The characters, the story, the action, the effects, the writing was fantastic, everything about this is what a superhero film should be. |

| The Watchmen was better than Green Lantern, Hellboy should be higher, and Predator's not a Superhero. Nor is Arnold, he's a ROBOT! |
