| is it an intangible pool of energy where collective thoughts and emotions congregate? if so, how can human tissue, completely physical and mostly cellular, retain this pool of energy? |

i guess, but all animals sorta have a consciousnesses. i say sorta because they're not self-aware/not as self-aware as humans. |

Consciousness is an illusion created by the brain.
Consciousness has nothing to do with our emotions or decisions. It's already been proven through experimentation that our brain makes decisions first and then "uploads" the decision into our consciousness so we feel like we made the decision.
No one really knows why we evolved consciousness or exactly how it's produced. There must be a purpose for it, though, or else we wouldn't have it. |

Plenty of other animals exhibit aspects of consciousness. Like other great apes, elephants, dolphins, and some birds.

| You ask an impossibe question by todays standards ,scientists and philosophers can't even agree on what consciousness is never mind define it... |
