Hello, I am CustardDoughnuts. I emailed ROBLOX about this last week and they replied that it's not 'possible' at the moment and that they apologise for the 'inconvenience'. So today I have decided to put it on S&I.
I for one changed my username because I didn't like my old one or that I feel like it didn't suit me. I also thought that I wouldn't want people to remember my old username. I'm sure that many of you feel the same way.
So what I'm asking is that there should be a checkbox under your account settings (where it has the green 'Change your username' button) in which you can tick whether you would like your previous usernames shown on your profile. It can also be show under privacy with a button checkbox that says 'Show Previous usernames'. This is optional and not everyone needs to do it. It would remove the grey question mark from your profile (which I find a bit annoying) and prevents others from seeing it too.
If someone does want to search for your old username, it can still show up in the search like usual but with your new username.
If not there could be an Advanced Search' where you can search for previous usernames in case you are looking for someone. Also in account creation when searching for a username, it tells you whether it has been taken or not.
Please post 'support' if you would like this implemented and please bump. If you do not like my idea please PM me ways in which I can improve it or just post. Thanks :)

No support. People who I haven't seen in over a year have probably changed their usernames, so it would be very confusing to search one username, but the result is much different. Being able to see previous names on profiles enables the viewer to clearly see what their previous usernames were, so it doesn't add confusion.

To above.
It's their choice if they want their previous usernames hidden or not, even if you don't know. Yes, you'll know they've changed their username and hidden it because you can't find their previous name, but again, it's their choice.
Maybe they don't want you to know they've changed it because they'd like to start new, not known for being a prick, it's like when we all started and didn't know how to use capital letters or full stops, we would've looked like idiots. That's why if you hide your previous username, you'll be known as a different face. |

To above, above.
You need a reason. You can't just say no support.
Your point is invalid, pls explain. |

@lickmetal
if you were a prick that's your own fault, face repercussions if they want a fresh start, they can make a new account otherwise, stop complaining. |

I didn't say I was a prick, you prick. :)
I just said most of us would've been.
Then you'll just look like more of a prick if you make a new account.
You'll have no items, except what you've got to start with, your join date will show you're new, and more.

But it's still going to be confusing to look up people, as a lot of people would probably use this feature.

If you were a complete moron, treated people poorly, then you don't deserve to just be able to hide it with a click of a button. If you really regret it, then you have to be an adult and own up to it.

Yes, you changed it, you should be able to hide your previous name(s).
Makes sense.

@lickmetal
i was using you as an example, figuratively don't lose your temper
and no, most of us aren't complete asses to the point where we have to create a new identity
and what about infamous scammers who change their usernames? people need to still look out for them
if you're secretive about a username for whatever reason, you probably deserve what's coming to ya (again, using "you" as a metaphor) |

@numbskull
You must've took your time coming up with that.
I'm happy at the moment, but thank you for noticing, you prick. Yes, I'm using you, like YOU did.
I'll end it here, I'm not going to reply to you, like most of us have said, they changed their username, they should hide their previous username(s).
How about you rip your spine out through your mouth, maybe it'll knock some sense in you.
I support, there's nothing you can do about it. |
