"considering the asian cup is on australian soil, i don't see us not making the final." We'll see about that
"and i highly doubt iran can beat south korea." In the last four years, Iran is 3-1 against the Koreans, including 2 wins in World Cup qualifiers. While Iran lost to Korea 0-1 in the last Asian Cup, they have plenty of reason for revenge and Iran is a much better team than you think they are
If Australia doesn't make the AFC Asian Cup Final and Iran beats Korea/Australia (Group A winner), then I'd say you should shut up and never talk football again |

and south korea have better players than iran and have enough to get them over the line.

i could say the same for you because i get patriotism is a nice thing sometimes but you make iran sound like the worlds best football team.
and with rhys williams, robbie kruse, trent sainsbury, tom rogic and more coming back from injury along with guys like adamn taggart getting moves to clubs like fulham and playing in vastly better leagues, it's fair to say that making the final is the absolute minimum. and with the way we played in the wc, which was attacking and no fear football (unlike iran), goals and wins aplenty are coming our way.

"and south korea have better players than iran and have enough to get them over the line." If they have better players than Iran how come Iran did better than them in the World Cup and Iran beat them to get INTO the World Cup, defying Choi Kang-Hee's cries that Iran won't make the World Cup and South Korea would win?
"i could say the same for you because i get patriotism is a nice thing sometimes but you make iran sound like the worlds best football team." The only difference is I've been right for about 50-60% (or more) things I said during this World Cup and you've been right for 0%

| You can have better players but none of that matters at all when you have teamwork, decent tactics (what South Korea only has the basic-block to), effort, and passion (I will say, Australia does have) |

i will admit, choi kang-hee is an idiot and i actually was happy that iran beat south korea in that game to make the world cup. however, getting a point compared to zero pales in comparison when you see what teams australia played and how well we played. and before you say we lost, we actually went out and attacked the opposition. if we had another quality striker besides cahill, we would've beaten the netherlands. we didn't camp outside the box and pray to god they'd miss.
"i could say the same for you because i get patriotism is a nice thing sometimes but you make iran sound like the worlds best football team." "The only difference is I've been right for about 50-60% (or more) things I said during this World Cup and you've been right for 0%"
i said both germany and the netherlands will make the semis, that columbia would make the quarter finals, that chile would knock out spain, that greece would make it to the round of 16 and that asian teams in general would do bad.
"and with rhys williams, robbie kruse, trent sainsbury, tom rogic and more coming back from injury along with guys like adamn taggart getting moves to clubs like fulham and playing in vastly better leagues, it's fair to say that making the final is the absolute minimum. and with the way we played in the wc, which was attacking and no fear football (unlike iran), goals and wins aplenty are coming our way."
"1) Iran actually played better than Australia - minus passing (goals aren't ALL to a game)"
so camping 10 players in the box is better than all out attacking teams with better attackers and better defenses? ok.
"2) The only two I know from what you listed are Rhys Williams and Robbie Kruse and the other guys are either young and inconsistent, and Iran already has a guy playing for Fulham and there's three youngsters in the Iranian program that have been linked to Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, etc."
trent sainsbury played 3 games for pec zwolle in the eredivise before he got injured and feyenoord were already considering buying him this transfer window.
"3) You won't make the final for the last time I don't care if it's on your home soil"
iran won't do much either.
