That's fascinating! They could probably use what they learned in doubling the sizes of ants to double the size of other animals, too! Think of the uses for that -- people who are naturally born short could use that science to become taller!

Not actually double, as in double their offspring, so that they're bigger than a normal ant.

Oh, so they've been using selective breeding?

That's not as exciting of a discovery, but selective breeding is still something very important. It's our way of controlling evolution!

Wow, I didn't even consider that, but that's definitely a good use! We could breed bigger animals, they could produce more meat, we could feed more people! It might also help the environment slightly, since we would need less space for producing meat.

"Canadian scientists double the size of ants in experiment

Researchers at McGill were able to grow ants that were twice as big or half the size of normal by manipulating a particular gene."

Yeah, that too. Dung could be used as fertilizer to produce the food that we're using to feed the livestock, though.

Oh.

By the way, Chimer Ants are fictional insects in a show. I doubt you care what the show is but they are CARNIVOROUS insects that usually eat meat, one can't do much to a human, but if you step into a whole nest they'll devour you alive.

There is one Chimera ant that had a mutation in her genes, she was over 2 feet tall. Chimera ants have a special type of reproduction system called phagogenisis- the species gene's that she devours are put into her offspring. She's over 2 feet tall, so she can devour humans. She devours humans along with other animals, so the ants she produces are extremely powerful, and try to take over the world.

Cool RIGHT>>>???

Aren't wyverns dragons without forelimbs, though?

IIRC wyverns are dragons with "hands" on their wings like bats
