I just got one this weekend with smash bros and it seems like a really good console.
All the games are in full HD 60fps and have great soundtracks and gameplay... not to mention the exclusives...
I don't get why everyone is hating on the Wii U. The only con I noticed was the gamepad's battery life.

It would be better if it played Gamecube games. If the Wii did, why doesn't the WiiU do it?

i wish the gamecube adapter was implemented into the console at launch, and they had gamecube backwards compatibility.

I think the Wii U is doing great now! It's library is getting bigger now. The N64 Games are starting to appear! I can't wait for April 23, you know what I mean....... |

In my opinion and probably others the Wii U should be in line with the PS4 and XB One in sales but that is never the case.
Wii U has good games that'll keep you busy for a while. I am absoulutely addicted to smash bros I already have like 1.5k battles done already and I got it in December. They have amazing exclusives as well. The gamepad isn't really that bad it's not as big as it seems and works well. I like that you can off screen play and that most games have motion and regular controls. I use an extension cord so battery life is never a problem xD |

From what they have shown of Xenoblade X it's problaby going to be one of the games that actually makes me want to buy a Wii U.

| I think Xbox One should still rack up more costs, Playstation 4 maybe, Those two are the ones who are neck and neck as of these recent gaming generations. |

| I promised that if they released the newest Fatal Frame game in the US, I would finally buy a WiiU. Looks like I need to pony up now. |

@Riko, well, I have large hands for my age, so the Gamepad fits in my hands perfectly. And it's much lighter than one would think!

"Its still technologically behind Sony and Microsoft" the wii and the ds were technologically behind sony and microsoft too but they still won that gen sales-wise the ds is the best-selling handheld of all time and the wii is the third-besting-selling console just behind the ps1 and 2

and two years after it released, the ps4 and xbox one came out which were miles ahead of it
people thought it was an additional controller for the wii

The later Wii models didn't run Gamecube games. I know, I had one. The Wii U can run Gamecube games. Homebrew channel. |

To put it into perspective, the Wii U's graphics core is roughly a Radeon HD 4xx. Which was a 2006 range of gpus. PS4/XBXOne use 2011-2012 graphics modules, but they are actually more powerful than you think. The APU's in the PS4/Xbox One (they don't have discreet graphics cards) are more powerful than any consumer AMD APU. |

| My PCs Radeon 6570 was around £15. THIS gpu is ahead of the Wii U's graphics by two generations. |

Cons - Where the sports games at - I hardly play them, but they're literally extinct on the Wii U. Unless you didn't know, games like NBA 2K15 and FIFA15 have massive fanbases.
No third party or terrible slashed ports - Exception to this is Tekken Tag Tournament which is awesome on the Wii U.
480p tablet display
No multitouch on the gamepad.
Hardware could have been considerably better.
Bad connectivity - No voice chat basically, poor social interaction on games, and getting lots of people to come to your house to play Mario Party is becoming a lot more rare than it was back in the n64/ps1/dreamcast days. |

| The Wii was a dust collector. It sold so much because it was ridiculously cheap and marketed towards everyone. |
