Vary, vary different. It's based around Combat rather than building. Sure, there is some building, but the majority of time is spent mining and fighting. |

It has lots of content, that's my favorite thing about it
What separates it from minecraft is
-Exploration is rewarded with chests of loot(Minecraft doesn't reward exploration too much, all the mining you have to do can be done below your safely guarded home) -When you die, you only drop half of your loot -More PvE focused -Many more tiers of tools and tool variation -Lots of bosses -NPCs that actually serve a purpose -The building is better imo |

"When you die, you only drop half of your loot"
not true at all
there are three settings when making a character
softcore - you only drop money on death
mediumcore - you drop everything for death
hardcore - if you die, you die for good
plus, terraria has much more content than minecraft, with a large update coming in june. |

i mean money
there is no point in playing anything other than softcore imo, terraria has a lot of unexpected deaths and exploration is a key aspect to the game |

it has multiplayer but it's now worth using unless you're playing with a friend
random multiplayer requires looking online for ips, and is full of griefing |

It's more combat based and it's a lot more interesting to explore in.
Npcs will also come live with you, vending whatever service they come with, along with boss battles. |

terraria has less of a focus on building and more on combat, like others have said though to be honest, the combat isnt that impressive pacing is okay until you get to hardmode, where you basically have to grind for materials to make drills to get the next material for the next drill and then you get a massive power creep it gets messy |

I play it on the PS3 and the Vita. It's awesome because:
-There's many types of bosses -Different variations of tools -NPC's with actual use -Exploration is the key to earning loot -PVE Based gameplay -Many different monsters/enemies
So yeah. Awesome. |

| The main reason I'm not into Terraria is the lack of a creative mode and that it is 2D. |
