depends what the exchange rate of gold is, plus it wouldn't be solid gold if there's paper currency inside.

You'd be defacing a dollar bill if you coated it in the gold and tried to spend it like a regular bill.
But if you tried to sell it, it would technically be more. |

Obviously because this is the riddle, you'll still have 200$, but if you were to apply real word logic, you'd have to figure out the exchange rate of gold per ounce in order to get a more accurate sum, oh and a therpist so you can find out WHY THE HELL YOU WOULD COAT MONEY
