Honduras has mara problems
It hasn't gotten to Nicaragua, but Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras are infested with them.
Police are too scared to do anything so the maras run towns and sections of big cities. You have to pay an extra 'tax' to them so you won't get killed by them. You also have to have private bodyguards called CPFs just in case (reserved for upper classes).
Most lower classes join the maras themselves and it becomes a never ending chain. |

I bet you money it's the mara's fault.
Eh, she doesn't seem corroded from what you say. Does she use tú or vos? |

Tú, eh?
Then she's from the screwed up northern/central parts of the country since she probably uses usted, vos and tú.
Poor girl probably lived a hard life. I pity her deeply. I have a classmate whose father recently got assassinated by maras in El Salvador for not paying the monthly tax.
It was a sad scene. |

That's the spirit. Unlike what OT thinks, good deeds are always refreshing to the soul. Even more when you get connected to a person. People are all very interesting.
How to know if it's vos:
-If you aren't Nicaragua, Costa Rica or Argentinian you probably won't say vos a lot and just use the conjugated form. -Stress in the last syllable in the majority of words (tienes=tenés) -The obvious SOS instead of ERES.
The rest are pretty hard to explain since they change quite a bit and you 'just know 'em' by heart. |

i learned never to go fishing with celebrities: jeremy wade caught a perch and said it was a river monster, billy mays cleaned his trout with a shamwow, and skrillex dropped his bass |
