Let's just say you're dying to have a username that someone that last played in 08 has. Well, this is a compromise a lot of arguments. The transparency system is something the Roblox site itself would check according to the players activity. This system would:
1) Allow people to change their usernames to the desired name of the inactive player. This would only occur if a player isn't active for let's say 2 years. The player can change it's username (only one player can change to the inactive name though) to the desired, inactive name, until the inactive player becomes active again. Once the inactive player becomes active again, the player can decide if he/she want to keep the old name, or create a new one. If they decide to keep their name, the player who had taken the name would receive a message that the name has been taken back, and their name will be reset to it's default.
2) It will filter the [People] tab of accounts that are currently active (online), and those who have been inactive (for let's say a year); or currently offline accounts. That way there's less searching through the [People] tab when looking for a specific player. This can be toggled on and off at the player's desire.
This will lessen up stress when it comes to changing names, and provide less clutter when searching for particular people/people's places'/etc., rather than viewing thousands of accounts that haven't been on for 5 years. |

@valentin
It's the granny crossbow (acts quite rare and expensive). It's one of like three fears that makes the character glitch like that. |

I see the ups and downs of this.
If the user comes back after two years, they'd be unhappy to find that their username was taken.
On the other hand, this would help eliminate rotting, abandoned accounts.
I don't know where I stand with this one. |

| Well that's just it. They have a choice if they want to keep the name or not when they return. So they can still get their name back. |

I do not support, all those people are people who remind us who we are today.

| I think this wouldn't be fair to the people who came up with the usernames first. First-come, first-served. |

@Doctor
A majority being oders, trolls, cyber bullies, predators, scammers, hackers, idea stealers, ignorant, and some just plain up stupid? This doesn't get rid of the accounts btw, just 'hides' them per se. |

Well, since they would have the option to get the name back, sure. Why not?
@whoever said it wouldn't be fair to the person that thought of the name first, if the name of the character is so important, they would've kept playing.
Btw, I believe it should also be "noted" as to whether or not this system has been used for "so-and-so" on their profile. |

| For example, if you delete your Instagram account, nobody can use your username again. That is because Instagram doesn't want people impersonating you. If someone takes your username they could impersonate you, which is not only rude, but also illegal. |

| But don't forget, on their profile they'll have the "This person has changed names" icon by their character blurb. Also as someone had also said, we could put up something on their profile that shows others that they've taken the name. |

| Eh. I think it's a little too complicated. Plus, there will always be noobs out there who won't know what those mean. |

| That's just it though. What's the point in playing ROBLOX if you don't know how it works? But with stereotype out of the way, it's not like everyone's going to be changing their names anyways. Maybe a test first? |
