I have to go and work on a storyboard with my brother on his clan's fort, so I'll just copy/paste the suggestions he listed earlier on S&I, and leave them open for discussion.
- Options and configurations for a Depth of Field effect
- Raise maximum texture resolution from 1024 to 4096
- Adding 2D circle and triangle objects
- Adding a new Fur object, allowing for moving grass, realistic animals, etc.
- Allowing settings to be changed to have a game rendered in a cartoony style, realistic style, etc, and customize that further.
- Allowing seamless content generation (Load in a block of parts from a storage, and have other parts already created removed behind you, all without damaging the game, being entirely client sided, and allowing one to focus detail in small packets rather than the whole thing at once.)
- Allow for custom retextures to be visible in-game, and on the website.
- Allowing for blocks to bend by editing individual vertices of the part, and adding new vertices to smoothen this out, allowing for knee bending to be non destructive to clothes.
- Allowing water to have improved reflections, and editing of water color, and quality of reflections, as well as allowing it to freely flow, as well as raising or lowering water level down to part sizes, and not terrain sizes.
- Allowing for post processing effects.
- Improved shading
- Particle physics collision
- Material editing, and mapping.
- Sharper looking natural terrain
- Support for masking. (The texture transparency thing)
- Cloth objects
- Smoke reacting to lighting, and with physics.
- Natural Lens flares.
- Actually doing specularity
- Please make sure the particles thing can have hundreds to thousands of particles without absolutely destroying frame rate or nuking graphics cards.
- Part fracturing |

My brother is trying to say why can't ROBLOX games dare compete with games made in Unity.
Why do ROBLOX's tools have to be so limited? |

| I would say roblox if even you can make a ENTIRE game solo on unity, due to how easy it is to impress little children with game spend at max 10 hours in total |

">attempts to compare a kids game engine to unity logic pls"
How does being a kids game factor into the complexity of a game engine?
logic pls

Also I should probably add that the Unity 4 engine came out around 2012, while the basic roadblocks engine came out 2005, and has had a few facelifts since, the most recent one being 2013 when they did dynamic lighting and changed the rendering engine.
In a nutshell, unity trounces the roadblocks engine, but the roadblocks engine runs on a lot more PC's than unity does.

Considering the guys at Epic made an engine that can handle thousands and thousands and thousands of particle effects in 1 scene (For comparison, everything prior to like 2012 could have like 500), and ROBLOX basically built the current rendering engine from the ground up...
There's that, and more realistic shading, lighting sliders, etc. etc., these would all be really nice. |
