@Tappier Every living being is automated But complex things like animals can add more situations to the programmation. or something... |

| I think cause they cant reproduce by themselves but I still think of them as living things even though "technically" they aren't according to science standards |

"But that does not stops them to be alive" id consider them to be borderline at most considering they can still reproduce but other than that theyre just weird protein structures |

You're an idiot
"They have no energy metabolism, they do not grow, they produce no waste products, and they do not respond to stimuli. They also don't reproduce independently but must replicate by invading living cells."
There you go, all it took was "why arent viruses alive" in Google They don't follow the basic characteristics that define a living thing |

"i've been taught all my life that bacteria (including viruses or rather viri, whatever) are living organisms" not really the thing that defines an organism is that it has organs or organelles viruses dont have these, they are merely a protein sheath with viral rna/dna inside it they dont eat, or excrete, or do anything beyond bumping into things and perhaps injecting the genetic material
"THEY ARE ALIVE! THEY REPRODUCE THEY ARE BORN THEY HAVE AN DNA (Mostly RNA but okay) AND MORE, PROTEIN IS A LIVING BEING-ONLY THING! (kinda)" NO URE WRONG!!!! |

I don't get how people can just make "standards" to what is living
who cares if it cant reproduce, its freaking alive |
